I'm still trying to figure out how in the hell some people can say that they liked The Cat in WCW. I thought the guy was not only a completely HORRIBLE actor, but a really poor wrestler as well. Linda McMahon is more interesting on camera.

LOL, Kevin Sullivan took the book for a very short period of time, and the downward spiral was already in full steam by that time.

And the Shockmaster, god I love the Shockmaster. His ability to spray paint stormtrooper helmets and break through walls was unmatched in the annals of wrestling.

I wish I had a decent quality mpeg with Ventura's commentary of the Shockmaster incident. Ahh, the good ol days.

That's why I liked him. He was so good because he was so bad. :)

Meltzer:

"The Invasion angle in Madison Square Garden scored big last night, garnering a 4.7 rating on Raw, the show's best number since April 30th.

The show started out strong with consistent growth throughout except for one segment (Edge vs. Billy Gunn, as if you couldn't have guessed). The non-main event angle with Booker T, Vince, Austin and Angle, etc. did a 5.6 rating, more than a half point better than any Raw matches have done. The Shane & Booker interview from WWF New York earlier in the show did the second best marks at 5.2, clearly showing it was that angle that was the reason for the increase. This surprisingly strong rebound bodes well for the next month since television is being built around continuing the angle.

Heat did a 1.3 for the first run of the show, live before King of the Ring, which isn't a strong sign, and an 0.7 for the replay. Both Livewire and Superstars fell to 0.7 ratings as well."

This is great news for the WWF. They can go full steam with the angle now.

damn everybody wants to see HHH vs Goldberg. I think that would suck. Doesn't anyone else want to see HHH vs Big Poppa Pump? I think that would be my dream match, besides the point that they're both heels right now

I want to see Lance Storm vs. Kurt Angle because of the obvious Canada vs. USA thing. Hell, I think Storm vs. HHH could be pretty good, too. Anything but a Goldberg match. :disgust:

OMG OMG spoiler from 1wrestling!

Steve Austin was shown backstage with Debra, saying he wants to kill Booker T. Vince shows up, and Austin is mad at him. Vince asks why, and Austin says he wants WCW vs. WWF matches on WWF TV. Vince wants to know why, so Austin whispers something in his ear. Vince smiles, then says that starting next week, there will be WCW vs. WWF matches on WWF TV.

I just want to input into this thread. I was a semi fan of wcw/wwf a few years ago when I was in high school and playing football.

havent watched it since, but I see that booker t has made it big time.

I remember watching booker t and his brother (I forget the name?) before anyone knew who they were, in the sportatorium friday night matches in dallas tx.. booker t was just a face in the crowd, but I thought he was pretty cool. now years later he's wide known, pretty cool

Harlem Heat: Booker T and Stevie Ray. You should have heard Stevie Ray as a color commentator.

According to Meltzer, the rosters will be divided up so I suspect that only the main-eventers will remain with their respective companies.

On a side note, there as been some chatter among some fans that Austin's character is teasing a gay angle with Vince.

Uh yeah, the same fans that said SurSer '97 was a Work, and the same people on the side of Sable way back when?

Wow. I am surprised with all of this wrestling talk.

I'm still trying to figure out how in the hell some people can say that they liked The Cat in WCW. I thought the guy was not only a completely HORRIBLE actor, but a really poor wrestler as well. Linda McMahon is more interesting on camera.

From the little bit of WCW I did watch, everytime the Cat was on I laughed. He does need some ring work, but his mic skills rock.

LOL, Kevin Sullivan took the book for a very short period of time, and the downward spiral was already in full steam by that time.

Remember Dave Sullivan? He was funny.

can't wait for goldberg vs HHH

Why? Goldberg has no ring or mic skills. He reminds me of the Ultimate Warrior (no real talent). HHH all the way on that one.

I want to see Lance Storm vs. Kurt Angle because of the obvious Canada vs. USA thing. Hell, I think Storm vs. HHH could be pretty good, too. Anything but a Goldberg match

YES. Goldberg matches tend to blow. Lance Storm is an awesome wrestler with AWESOME mic skills. He will be an impact player for the WCW invasion angle. :)

On a side note, there as been some chatter among some fans that Austin's character is teasing a gay angle with Vince.

What? I do think the angle is that way. It just does not make sense for Austin to align himself w/ Vince (FOR ANY REASON/MOTIVE).

Wrestling seems to be going in the right direction now. I do think they should drop the DDP/Taker/Sara angle. Stalker angles are so lame. I also think it would be a VERY unwise decision to make Raw into WCW Raw.

Fake? Damn...all that time wasted. ;)

<< LOL, Kevin Sullivan took the book for a very short period of time, and the downward spiral was already in full steam by that time. >>

Sullivan had his hands in the "mess" for a long time...then off and on during and after Russo's reign of terror.

Remember Benoit as WCW champion for a day? That was Sullivan's pathetic attempt at saying, "I don't have hard feeling for you taking my wife."

Riiiight!

Remember the Dungeon of Doom? That was all Sullivan. It was just an attempt to get himself over. Pathetic.

Terry Taylor was slightly better...cock-a-doodle doo!

<< Boring...its fake! ;) >>

You mean as opposed to Friends, E.R., West Wing, etc..which are all obviously just extensions of those "reality shows"? o_O
