The term fanboy or any similar insult is not permitted in the tech forums.
Clearly a biased AMD redacted and corpo shill. How dare he even mention GPP. The company that would do that drama would never stir up drama against a competitor because they didn't win over MS/Bethesda or they decided to cut funding to the games side for driver work.

I'd honestly forgotten he'd been with Nvidia. I figured most would remember him being AMD GM of their GPUs the last few years.

Somewhat strange as weren't BFG basically killed by excess warranty claims with their lifetime* warranty after Nvidia colossally messed up the transition from leaded solder. Aka Nvidia Bumpgate.

So after that, he went to the company which killed the previous one?

* Buyers - including me - though it was the lifetime of the product, not of the company! :-(

But eventually they went bankrupt and a short time later my BFG 8800GT started artifacting.

I think he likely thought, “Well dang, the company I founded that specialized in selling Nvidia GPUs didn’t work out but Im in need of a job. Where else can I apply my Nvidia GPU selling skills?”

It is a shame that so many well-known Nvidia AIBs bit the dust. I fondly remember all the wacky names each AIB had for their overclocked versions. BFG Tech had the Alpha Dog lineup iirc.

An utterly shameless shill and troll started this thread. That's how it started.

This is how it's going -

No FSR or XeSS features in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Why no pitchforks and torches? Why no tech tuber videos devoted to trashing Nvidia for how anti gamer it is?

Sponsored games using the sponsor's tech exclusively for at least a limited time has been SOP for decades.

What a goddamn joke of a thread.

Heh. I guess that's one of the perks of having 80% market share...

As it turns out, AMD only added Vulkan support for FSR in June. Maybe it was just too late in the dev cycle and they will add support later.

Hurts Nvidia customers too, since Pascal and 16 series cards are frozen out. I still see a ton of "gaming" systems with repurposed Skylake business systems and a 1660 Super being sold, and those would hugely benefit from having some kind of upscaling option.

Not Nvidia customers they care about at this point though, so whatever I guess.

Will HUB make a video??? I give it 1 month and if they don't their knighting is nothing but for show. I'm at a point where my only PC DIY youtubers are only Gamers Nexus.
Toxic company that will trample all over their partners to remain the last one standing.
Why do you think Intel has these non-mainstream names for AIB partners?

Bah, this trip down memory lane had me check youtube comments.

From the first HUB video Tim did last year:

Right on.

Prefacing my diatribe. I know I can be a bit "extra". Most of you seem really laid back and mellow. I apologize if it disrupts your chill sometimes. It is not my intent. It's that I tire of the constant stream of marketing and influencing tactics they inundate us with. From the subtle to the blatant and ridiculous. Gaslighting, astroturfing, guerilla, paid influencers; it is non stop. This thread is a object example. And I do enjoy a good -"what really grinds my gears." I also have no sacred cows.

Thanks for delving in @Ranulf. They did the hit piece then followed up with the vid insulting those that called them out for it. You will note it is Tim that does the bulk of this content. There is some good cop bad cop going on.Tim's motivation,? As Frito says so often in Idiocracy- "I like money". Tim playing the - It's AMD's fault Nv can do whatever they want- card, was the last bit of confirmation I needed that part of his job is to shill for dollars. He panders, he waffles, he has been pushing DLSS and RT hard ever since the editorial direction brewhaha. As I have observed before, it has been the perfect defense to shilling. How can HUB be shills for Nv? "We were the ones that stood up to them, remember?"

He does that 6yrs of RT and it is still a joke video. The next vid is the best GPUs to buy, and he pushes better RT performance as a reason to buy Nv. Being consistent and not shilling would be saying not to let RT pry your wallet open, as there simply aren't enough games using it well enough to make sense to invest in it yet. Wait for new GPUs that will have superior RT performance and the games to go with them. But that won't buy more man child toys to display on his shelves.

I don't take exception to their paying the bills and putting bread on the table. But do not cross the line into being anti consumer in the process. Shilling for dollars is exactly that. I used to criticize GN 7-8yrs ago. But they were so open and straightforward about knowing there was so much they did not know and needed to learn. And made excellent choices at every opportunity, to side with the consumer instead of sponsors or their own selfish interests. Evolving into a bastion of consumer advocacy and hard hitting investigative journalism is why I spend money on their merch. I support what they are doing.

Great point. Nvidia has the big names by the throats with the G.I. Joe kung fu grip. MSI will become an exclusive Nvidia partner, if the scuttlebutt is true.

They must be in some kind of financial trouble. Going Intel/Nvidia only to capitalize on the vast opportunities afforded by the existence of technically braindead commonfolk.

I just watched the GN NZXT videos last night. I am glad they exist. I don't have sympathy for idiots renting a PC, but damn the bait and switch was unreal.

Only makes sense for folks who have custom workloads and need to test CPUs from both camps for one month's rent cost to pick the best one. But I do wish it was easier to just fire up cloud instances of common PC configurations and pay by the hour.

There is a thread on it in the builder's forum. The CEO is an unrepentant douche. GN retaining a lawyer to come on and explain the shenanigans is next level cool.

You need to watch the full videos. That is not a cost effective scenario the way NZXT's scam works. It's also risky.

Unless AMD is serious about producing halo SKUs with RDNA4, there's almost no reason to be one of their AIBs. The margins are much higher on something like a 4090 or 7900XTX than midrange and low range cards (especially AMD cards which push low volumes).

Some AIBs may have no choice, especially if they don't have the capital to take the sort of volume shipments that Nvidia may demand.

Also I don’t mind Nvidia doing this, Intel tried to kill Nvidia back in the 90s. This is just karma. So like Nvidia had to back then Intel has to work hard
