In my testing with my FX 9370, I can drop voltage lower than what the FX 8350 is set at and still run FX 9370 speeds (4.4GHz / 4.7GHz turbo). I imagine they should be able to get FX 8350+ clocks at 1.35v pretty easily at this point.

Wonder what the price is for the 860K. Guess they are answering the G3258.

It was a given that AMD would eventually launch the 860k some time in the future. They are really into die-savaging after all. I think it was Intel that checked the 860k launch with the DC Pentium.

My bet is that 8370 is to praise the AMD enthusiasts. But strategically talking is not a so smart move...

So, if the 860K is a harvested 7850K with a bad iGPU, will it fail to gain any performance past 4.5 ghz as is so often the case?

Seems its not a 8370, but a 8300 at 3.2Ghz base, 3.5Ghz turbo.

I wonder how they'd price that. If they can put it close to $125 I think it'd be a nice CPU, good upgrade for AM3+ owners who don't have a four module CPU and want an upgrade.

The question is how much of an upgrade it is without OC.

There was supposed to be an 8370 there too.
I wonder what happened with 860K's L2 cache. Looks like they cut it in half per module, could it be yield issues? Carrizo will interestingly have 1MB L2 per module, just like these salvaged Kaveri parts.

If 860K can reach 4.4-4.5Ghz on air cooling then it can be called an upgrade over 750/760K.

Actually, I look at this image of the APU die...

...and wonder if they couldn't squeeze it to 12- (or even 16-) cores. I mean, if clustered multiprocessing is your thing, why not take it to its competitive conclusion. At least they would have some edge on Intel, even if Handbrake is the only application that can use it...

Well in the TPU photo the FX8300 is Unlocked unlike the OEM locked SKUs. Maybe the PIB FX8300 has lower clocks than the OEM.
