They don't have very good marketing as far as I can see.

The giant billboard would be really cool if it were Fiji powered, but it's Tahiti powered.

AMD doesn't have marketing?

Nope.

Just a few crappy pictures. That will get a LOT of people to put-off their purchases...:/

For myself, I am waiting 1-2 months before buying a 980Ti or AMD equivalent. Need to see what custom card released is the best and for some waterblocks to start trickling out. Hoping AMD has a winner waiting here, but not really sure. My 970 is great, but is starting to struggle a bit at my current res...getting another 970 is about the same cost as selling my current and getting a ~$650 card...

Problem is...
gpuz_oc.gif

26% O/C...

perf_oc.gif

= 9.4% performance increase.

Also:

Typical nVidia that the card will only hold it's boost clocks long enough to run benchmarks. People really think these cards are giving them the performance in the graphs, but they aren't.

And you dismissed Anandtech's own findings and try to blanket using Battlefield 3 at 1080p -- just amazing.

Even if Radeon Fury is 50% faster than Titan X, NV still has it in the bag. GameWorks has done a lot of damage to AMD this past year, the perception on Steam & neogaf gaming forum is this: "AMD = crap drivers, can't run new games well, doesn't work with game devs (@ Proj Car devs claiming BS then back tracking.. but, damage was done!), takes months to fix".

How do you think they have a chance to crawl back in market-share with that perception so entrenched?

AMD just needs to cater to the segment of gamers who are more aware and don't think like the above example. They only do that with great performance, good efficiency and good pricing. We've yet to see how their stack pans out. So if you are calling NV will win this generation in performance, that is premature. If you mean NV wins on market-share, for sure.

Yup, you guys should read neogaf regularly if you want to see what gamers think of AMD rather than hardware enthusiasts. It's very bad.

lol neogaf is filled with people and industry insiders who do nothing but cheer the industry and sony all day. Take that site with a grain of salt.

I need that site deleted from the internet.

That billboard was to advertise their professional GPUs. It may have had an impact in that crowd. Assuming you mean the time square one

The billboard has been around a few months. It was not advertising AMD cards originally, I don't think.

When it came up in the media again recently, with the AMD ad on it, I expected it had to do with Fiji. Perhaps it had been re-done with Fiji cards?

But apparently not.

Fiji xt /xtx 8gb hbm 849
Fiji vr 2x8gb hbm 1399-1499

So the prices leaked on ChipHell suggest that 4GB version of AMD Fury will have 1000 MHz core clock and wil be faster than GTX Titan X. At 750$ price range.

So really, Radeon Fury will be truly faster than GTX Titan X at 1150 MHz core clock and with 8 GB of HBM.

20-25% faster than GTX Titan X, at lower price tag. That is remarkable.

If any of the leaks are true...

So a cut down version of Fiji will be faster than GTX 980 Ti, if any leaks are true.

So it is no longer 4GB HBM but it confirm to be 8GB HBM now with 4096 core? If so no point in buying a GTX 980ti

Look at the quote in my post.
3 version of Fiji.
Cut down one with 4 GB of HBM.
Full, standard clock, air cooled I presume, with 4 GB of HBM, and based on that slide faster than Titan X, that is the one on that slide.
And full blown Fiji XT with 8 gb of HBM and 1150 MHz which we can only imagine how well it will perform.

If those leaks, and slides come to real, and so far Chiphell was the only one who providded any realiable leaks, by the looks of those slides, AMD made fantastic job with that GPU.

But the chiphell benches are wrong for the 980ti...

It's not that far behind Titan X stock, and faster when overclocked.

Because they show how card behaves at specific resolution in relation to other GPU. In which is R9 290X.

Also, both benchmarks are dated before release of the cards(GTX 980 Ti is right now, Fiji is few days in future).

And how that card performs without OC? its slower than Titan X, which should be obvious.

Is the 8GB similar to what the 295x2 is because that would suck. I prefer single 8GB HBM gpu then a duel 8GB HBM gpu. Less problem and less hassle.

If you aren't going to bother to look or read, then what is the point?

What you just wrote is wrong, and if you read my post, you'd know that.

Thats from ChipHell.

If we count this there are 4 versions, counting the one with dual GPU.

And yet, Fury with water cooling and should have 8 GB of HBM on single die.

Also, ive checked the benchmarks from Chiphell, that were posted before.

It turns out that cut down Fiji, with 4 GB of HBM and 599$ price tag will not be faster than GTX 980Ti.
