i was hoping for 499USD for cut down fiji.
600USD is meh and i will skip this generation for sure.
600USD for reference and 650-700 for non reference for r9 290 successor.Yeah..
I am waiting for pascal.

I'd skip fiji pro for significantly more than $400. Hard to justify some of these GPUs

I hope you realize these people are speculating like us here. I have the picture in my head of us and them feeding on what we each write. They don't know any more than us.

Even though I think 8GB HBM might be on the table, this is speculation [Fiji xt /xtx 8gb hbm 849]

I think just 2 Fiji cards this year. Fury Pro and Fury XT, with only one arriving soon.

I don't think we will see an SE model for Fiji.

I suspect we will see an SE 3rd tier Fiji SKU later on, because a big die has plenty of harvesting options and would actually require it to get maximal $ per wafer.

The 980Ti performance won't be much of a surprise to anyone, reference models would be 10% behind. Custom models ~= Titan X.

I usually choose the cut-down version of the latest chip, but if it is $600 I might have to pass. I'm hoping for closer to $500.

Same here I do need to upgrade my GPU so I need something in the 4-500 range that's better than what I currently have. Maybe I could justify the 980ti but who knows.

Right now a 300$ gives the exact same gaming experience as a $550 980. If I were you I would hope there are some price cuts and AMD can salvage this price range. Other wise its either you pay $300 for a 290X or then you double it to get a $650 980 TI which is the next tangible (read: able to discern a difference) in the way your games run.

If true Fiji is going to be one beastly card, AMD generally prices their stuff in line with performance when it first comes out.

I've been keeping my eyes on the 290x for a while I guess I'll see what happens when the 980ti releases and hope for an amd price cut otherwise it may be tough shelling out $650 for the 980ti.

I understand that the soon to be launched 16GB 395x2 will be $650 and be 215% TitanX SLI.

I geuinely believe that this is the case. Caribbean Islands, with GCN 1.2 or higher and at least the same core counts. Also note, Fiji is not Caribbean Island. Its Volcanic.

If this is the case, and completely new range of GPUs we will see at Computex, then information that full Hawaii has 2816 GCN cores makes sense.

We will see what core count will have Grenada GPU. I suppose it will be 3072, with less than 250W TDP.

R9 3XX can be unveiled at Computex.

Fiji and the rest of Fiji line would be at E3.

Well I hope we get something, at least some info if not a product reveal. As the saying goes, "the suspense is killing me!"

No that guy was full of BS.

The price is from chiphell. Take it with some salt. But those Nvidia price is from benchlife and legit.

That's pretty even though. Might best it by a small amount @ 1440p? 8GB of VRAM for dual GPU users could be good. Especially if priced right.

So it's yes then? :D

we have heard so many stories and peoples projections. I dont even know where this 3072sp Grenada you keep talking about came from. But the longer delays are really bad if you ask me. What could really be going on?

Clearing out the channels? Still?
Come on, now!!!

Anyone who has been paying attention has seen that AMD models have been running out of stock on etailers. This started months ago. It was last year when we heard about the huge inventory problem AMD had and all the GPUs they had left in the channel. I personally believed that AMD ramped up production after the mining craze wipped out all of their inventory but as soon as they ramped up production, the mining craze ended, leaving AMD with a huge inventory problem.

We know for a fact that there were way too many cards in the pipeline and this was last year. How can the still have too many cards in the channel today?
See, anyone paying attention would have seen AMD models going out of stock at online stores. It was brought up many times on this forum, people saying "look there are only 4 290x models on newegg". Many times it was followed with a theory of how it means the 390x is closer than we think, or some other theory. But i just thought that AMD was being very careful with inventory this time, after the flood they were being very cautious to not over run. That was my thoughts, my theory.

But now we are being told that this delay now is due to a need to clear the channels....... you know, i just dont think that AMD is that incompetent.

It is taken so so long now and i worry about what could be going on. IS it a yield issue or something else? The gf100 was delayed months do to its issues. We had charlieD telling us all about it, his version anyway. But clearly, you have to realize that something is going on. This delay looks far longer than fermi, and fermi had real issues.

Is no one else worried about this but me? I think it is scary.
But perhaps all is peachy and AMD just planned on launching fiji 9 months after the 980 all along. And perhaps this delay to later and later is just to clear channels, again.

I guess i am saying that i am not feeling so good about this anymore. Especially since the 980ti leaks, the performance and price.........
i am starting to think that the situation is now turning awful for AMD. This waiting......not sure it was a good idea. I really really hope it wasnt their choice, cause that seems like a stupid thing to do.

Google Engrish seems like that person is a retailer/distributer and the product is in. If correct then there's an 8GB Fiji. Interesting, if true.

Later on, the same poster (with google translate)

"Ah, I understand that no starting Fiji 8GB, early August, single 8GB HBM"

fiji pro $450 max please and thank you. Then maybe a month or 2 later I can find one for 350. OR maybe it will be 450 with three games so I can sell those 3 and bring it down to "I am sane for buying this" price.

I think they will announce specs and price and show some tech at computex. e3 they will show dx 12 games and aftermarket options + release for sale. Possible hand some out to the consumers there.

Well they should be fairly close, yes to that. I wouldnt buy it but for those with little cash, it offers value at $399. But GTX 970 shouldnt trail far behind either, and you get that one for $329 when 980Ti launch.
