97F here with high humidity in nortern illinois. my central air keeps me about 73F. i just look out the window at the long grass and think "no fuckin way"

Man, and I'm usually complaining about Florida 😛

Only going to hit 89 degrees today, which is fine by me. I'll be working outside for the next week.

Try wearing shorts and sipping a margarita outside in February up North. We got it made.

The South ('s Mercury) will rise again! :whiste:

I wear shorts in Febuary all the time. Usually the afternoon high is above 15f....
As an added bonus, you can make a margarita without adding any ice to it, and it stays cold!!!!! Jealous aren't you?

Supposed to be another scorcher today 🙁

The short walk from the parking lot to the front door of the office is a real bitch when it's hot like this.

OP is in Chicago and he is complaining about the heat?

How about us Southerners have to deal with 100 and above PLUS humidity = over 100 degree heat index.

<<<-- loves the South US and everything about it but hates the summer/humidity.

We had over 100 heat index the last couple of days.
Also, we are in the Chicago area, it's not supposed to be hot here like the south!!!!

You know how we make fun of you when you get like 2 or 3 inches of snow and then yall compare it to the holocaust ?

Well, 100 degrees in chicago is sorta like getting 12 inches of snow in the south, but, none of yall are allowed to wear jackets!

Parts of Texas are already in the triple digits. For this time of year, that is not common. We usually do not see 100s until July or August.

A couple of weeks ago I was talking to a guy who works for a Texas Parks and Wildlife fish hatchery. He told me the fish spawned about 3 weeks early due to the hot weather we had back in March and April.

Today with an expected high of 103 and tomorrow with an expected high of 104, it will be the 7th and 8th days of triple digits in Lubbock so far this year. I think the avg is 8 or so days of triple digits a year and we are already going to hit that. Hell we hit 100+ 5 days in May. The last two nights the overnight low has been in the upper 70s. This has never happened before in the 6 years I've been here. One of those years we never hit triple digits. Coupled with the severe drought, the Texas cotton industry is going to be hit hard and cotton will likely continue to increase in prices.

meh. only hit the low 90s today. doesnt feel too bad outside even though the heat index is 99. going to go home and set up the pool for the boys, grill some chicken and kick back on the back deck. 😎

Let's trade!!!!

We'll take the cold and/or the raining ... either one will reduce the misery of 100 degrees and blinding bright death rays from the sun.

It's been so cold in Portland that none of the roses bloomed in time for Rose Festival for the first time in decades.

61 now and it's supposed to hit 68. We'll see since it's still pretty cloudy.

Yea its like 100 here in Austin TX... just getting lunch outside is a killer. It sucks even more since i have polymorphous light eruption so i have to load up on sunscreen or wear long sleeves and pants.

I pitched in an baseball game (25 and over) Sunday in 100 degree weather and by the time the 7th inning rolled around I was completely spent and had sweat off a few pounds of water weight. I love the heat though and greatly prefer this type of weather over extreme cold.

61 is PERFECT weather 🙂
Though I do like cold weather too since my snowmobiles work best on snow🙂

The thing that gets me is that it gets this hot every year! Spent the first 25 years of my life in WNY -- it has always gotten hot there in summer. This year was particularly bad for the bitching: first it was "winter is never going to end," then it was "it rains too much," and now its "it's too hot." Ugh

Damn you all...it's starting to heat up here in NorCal. Starting today, it's supposed to be near or over 90!! <sigh>
I guess I'd better get ready...summer is on the way.

Supposed to get a bit over 70 in my more coastal area of norcal.

If I lived inland like you do I'd hella get AC and run it like nobody's business.
