England is known for it's May Day Festivals, and many goofy events. You have to love the quirky English. The watercress eating championships look downright scary.... 😉

Just when you thought Americans were the nuttiest fruits, along come the English worming for first place!

I'm not positive this is an H&F topic, but i'ma answer anyways.

Makes sense, their beer is better. And that has nothing on fantasy fest in key west, when judging nuttiest fruits. 😉

I love watercress. I have been trying to eat it more and more. I used to go to this Portuguese restaurant and get a giant plate of it with a little olive oil and vinegar before my mean meal. I have been able to find a local green grocer that sells it very fresh and stores it in shallow water. I think watercress is related to Wasabi (the real wasabi not the green horseradish paste most place have.

Watercress is high in antioxidents. It's some of the best stuff you can eat. I love it. My salads get a big shot of it.

By the way, the last time I was in England I went to an outdoor classical concert and one of the ladies had made watercress sandwiches which were fantastic. I don't know how many calories they were, but since I was there for Ironman UK I figured I could pig out. And I did! Anyway, if anyone has a watercress sandwich recipe, I'd love to see a good one. The damned woman wouldn't tell me what was in hers! 😉

Yes, it's a health topic. Watercress is loaded with antioxidents. That's why I put this here, and for the entertainment value.
True about Key West. Been there, done that. Funny pun....🙂
