Some people just can't think non-linearly apparently. If you talk about the future and then talk about the past that led up to that future, their brain shorts out. That's the only explanations I can think of as to why a considerable number of people think this. OP, have you seen memento? I bet that would fuck you up royally.
I should also point out that this seems especially prevalent in the previous generation (I'm 21). My friends and I had no trouble whatsoever following the plot, and I have yet to find someone in my age bracket that does.

I understood the movie 100%. I hated it 100% One doesn't have to not understand the movie to dislike it.

you might want to rethink who you want to call a dumbass, dumbass. he said nothing about following "our timeline". he said that it switched around timelines, meaning that things didn't happen in a chronological order.
did you actually SEE the movie??
it happened in a perfectly chronological order... except where these plot devices, which are called FLASHBACKS, occurred.
The Movie however DID NOT occur in our timeline... at least i don't think Richard Nixon was ever elected president 4 times, and i don't think we won vietnam...
There are ways to do this yourself... The word choking comes to mind.Originally posted by: amdhunter
Everytime I watch that movie, I wish I had a blue penis. That would freaking pwn.

So does it follow the graphic novel pretty closely? The trailer seemed spot on. If so, I can't imagine not liking it.

I enjoyed it - nothing too awesome, but an above average movie with some seriously flawed "heroes."
this.
Roschach (sp)? was the most interesting character.
The best moment of the film, was when he was in prison, and someone said to him : "You're locked in here with us now!" to which he replied :
"YOU'RE LOCKED IN HERE WITH MEEEE!!!!"
After boiling someone's skin off.

Yeah, but when Rorschach was about to be captured and he panicked like he did - that was.. weird. Totally showed a different side of his character. He always seemed confident and was in control, but when things didn't quite go according to plan, he freaked. But then he regained himself and fucked-up some prisoners - lol.

He freaked because he walked into an obvious trap, and was pissed at himself for not seing it earlier.
I thought so too. But without the paralleling story of the Black Freighter to as the writer stated-Originally posted by: lyssword
Awesome movie
And all of the events/ clues leading up to how Veidt really tricked the world, a lot of the depth/skillfully executed story arc, was lost.the story of The Black Freighter ends up specifically describing "the story of Adrian Veidt" and that it can also be used as a counterpoint to other parts of the story, such as Rorschach's capture and Dr. Manhattan's self-exile on Mars
