Watchmen

It was good. You say nothing specifically about what you didn't like about it so I'm forced to assume the plot was too much for you to follow. Either that or you have a problem with big blue cock.

It switched around timelines, story lines, and made no sense in general.

My son hated it, too - and my wife - normally the patient type just slipped out of the room and played a game. . . citing utter boredom.

It made perfect sense. Wtf are you talking about? Did you just not pay any attention?

welcome to the world of FICTION..

or do you believe there's a kid in england doing magic while fighting "he who must not be named"

You know a lot of stories are told non-linearly, it's not that big a deal for most people 😕

That said, I was kinda disappointed with the movie, the graphic novel was better 😛

It wasn't a bad movie. Probably would be better if I read the series though. Had enough twists and turns in it to keep me interested.

when you speak to people, do they often have a glazed over or perplexed look on their face?
wtf kind of stuff do you watch? just because it's fiction doesn't mean it doesn't have to make sense. and your comment about harry potter is so out of place as well.

the graphic novel takes almost as long as the movie just to flip through 😛 If the movie was 10 hours long it could go into the detail.. although it could just suck real bad.

I liked the movie quite a bit.

no dumbass... the OP stated he didn't like the fact that the movie didn't use our timeline.

MOST movies don't use our timeline. Most movies take place in an Alternate Reality.
If you don't realize this... then you must believe that there's a kid in england who is the 'chosen one' of magic.

Fiction doesn't have to make sense...

How about it wasn't even mildly interesting? I was ready to turn it off with the fight scene of the "comedian"

I haven't watched it yet, I'm planning on renting it soon because it seems like I could go either way. Different people find different things interesting, of course.

It does raise some very interesting perspectives/thoughts on the absolute of morality, as well as sort of dress down the hero archetype/character.

I enjoyed it - nothing too awesome, but an above average movie with some seriously flawed "heroes."

this.

Roschach (sp)? was the most interesting character.

The best moment of the film, was when he was in prison, and someone said to him : "You're locked in here with us now!" to which he replied :

"YOU'RE LOCKED IN HERE WITH MEEEE!!!!"

After boiling someone's skin off.

Win 🙂

you might want to rethink who you want to call a dumbass, dumbass. he said nothing about following "our timeline". he said that it switched around timelines, meaning that things didn't happen in a chronological order.

Fiction doesn't have to make sense...

i realize that, but thats not what i was saying. guyver made it seem like the definition of fiction = makes no sense.

did you actually SEE the movie??

it happened in a perfectly chronological order... except where these plot devices, which are called FLASHBACKS, occurred.

The Movie however DID NOT occur in our timeline... at least i don't think Richard Nixon was ever elected president 4 times, and i don't think we won vietnam...

no.. again.. the OP said "made no sense in general. "

as if he was expecting it to make logical sense and conform to all known mathematics and physics and science in general..

it's called FICTION.. it doesn't have to make sense.

if you go into a movie expecting it to make sense and not have any wtfbbq moments.. go see a documentary.

wait... have the people complaining of this only watched movies that play out entirely in chronological order? Many movies skip around in the middle of the movie, typically used in the sense of forward, forward, backtrack to earlier time, back forward in "present", forward, backtrack again, forward again, etc.

it's not hard at all to follow if you pay attention to detail. Watchmen is not a movie to watch for mindless entertainment, a lot more depth to it than one might believe if not prepared. Attention to detail = easy to follow the timeline sequences of the movie.

[edit: sure, some movies use title cards or text on the screen to note the flashbacks when they occur, but far from necessary for anyone with half the ability to pay attention. Movies excite my visual brain, and completely combat my mild ADD. So if I can have enough attention to follow flashbacks and whatnot, it shouldn't be hard for others. Then again, I've had no trouble in following every detail and flashback/flashforward of the show Lost, never confused at all - except for the plot elements, which confuse everyone until addressed again, but that's a different animal, and part of the awesomeness of the show.]

Now, the actual movie itself, yeah might like it, might not. I personally really liked the movie. Could have used less scenes of massive blue cock, but eh... that's the character. Damn blue man could have at least came prepared with super stretchy spandex for his boys. The bastard has no sense of decency!

You have to watch the entire movie for it to make sense [excellent twist near the end of the movie].

Plus - you probably didn't make it to the extremely well done sex scene. 🙂
