I don't know that I'm prepared to argue that point. I didn't agree with a lot of things Obama did, but I liked the man. Trump has a direction that's more aligned with my views than Obama, but he's going to far on some of it, and often floundering. He needs to get his kids out of the deal, and he needs to shut the fuck up. I don't believe he's able to do either of those things.

I wasn't a fan of Hillary either, but if you weighed the two equally: you had an extremely experienced politician and someone with a strong foreign relations background, placed against someone with absolutely no political experience, no diplomatic experience, uneducated in law, and has serious personality disorders...but he's rich.

People chose wrong. I guarantee you we would not be waking up every morning going "Oh God...what did the President tweet now???" if Clinton were in office.

That's why I'm saying Trump will likely hang around until 2020. It's not that there isn't a growing resentment toward him, it's that Congress won't have the numbers to oust him unless he does something so egregious that even power-hungry Republicans choose to remove him. Any departure before then would likely have to be due to either Mueller's investigation or Trump's inability to accept a loss of control.

Be clear on this- Trump is NOT a Republican. He hijacked the party with a Simpsons-like "Monorail" message, and the GOP is now forced to play along. Trump has no idea what Republican values or goals are, he's just flailing around like an angry dad yelling at football coaches on TV---and then somehow became head of the NFL. The man is toxic to the US government in general, no matter what side you're on.
 
When I consider what type of adult humans I hope my sons turn out to be--he's pretty close to being the opposite. Despite the fact that I'm a white middle-aged male making decent money, he'd probably dislike me as much as I would him if we ever met. I consider every successful politician as scum on some level, because like moving up in corporate circles it really requires you to be a bloodthirsty lying bastard...but he takes this so much further than usual. I guess in his favor he hasn't (I don't think!) killed a bunch of people. Take GWB, for instance, who should go down in history as a war criminal...
 
I don't really have a problem with Trump per se. My real issue is with the Republicans that support him despite his seemingly boundless incompetence not to mention the continuing violations of constitutional and statutory law such as the emoluments clause. Anyone who actually espouses conservative values should be aghast at Trump's behavior or lack thereof. I expect a certain amount of bias on their part but when your political orientation above the best interests of the country you supposedly serve, your own overwhelming sense of shame should cause you to act. But like with Trump, shame is irrelevant. All that really matters is giving the big money donors what they expect. It will be interesting to see if enough voters will get off their crusty bungholes and actually do something about it in November.

Actually espouses? Lack of behavior? That's some deep shizz. And anyone who espouses and lives conservative so-called values has no choice but to support any republican candidate. I hear nothing but positive things from them.
