Watched a documentary on Trump

I always wondered what the fuzz was about. I noticed his Trumpspeech did not appeal to me.
Watched a documentary about him yesterday on netflix. What a crook.
I understand that some people love him, he is very good at manipulating the media and the people watching. I could have expected he had a reality tv show once. He always wanted to be a hollywood star.

Maybe it's because I watched the Apprentice shows, but I never liked the guy. Then when he ran for election, it only went downhill. I wouldn't say he is good at manipulating anything, he is just loud and talks over people and because he's rich he's used to people being 'yes men'. He comes off as a bully who isn't used to not getting his way. He is in no way what this country needed, and it is pretty sad that people thought he was the solution. He may not have really expected to win the presidency, but it is very clear that once he got there, all he saw it as was a way to bolster his 'look at me I need approval' mentality. If you just take the way he talks and his twitter entries, I'm almost certain this is a man who's father was always telling him he wasn't doing good enough. The thing about the government though is that it sometimes is very difficult to tell what anyones true motive is because there is way too much smoke and mirrors. While I appreciate his supposed up front approach, his priorities really need to be rethought.

Additionally, I think because he never actually had to work for anything and be successful or be nice to anyone that didn't have anything to offer him, he never learned empathy or apathy. You can tell he has very little respect for people in general, and especially if they don't fit his idea of 'pleasing to the eye'.

People are saying he's trying to be a dictator, and I don't think that is it exactly. He's just trying to run the country like a business where 'he's the boss and what he says goes'. The problem is, the guy has been unsuccessful way more than he's ever been successful. He just had money to pad those failures. While on the surface the country may seem like a business, those checks and balances are there for a reason.

Could be. his father was the real self made millionaire. And perhaps The father and mother spoiled Donald so much that Donald became a kind of extreme "entitled" person.
He does like to show everybody that he is the man.

Whats' the doc called?

The documentary show is called : "Dirty money". The episode about Trump is episode 6.
There are many interesting episodes, one for example about the diesel exhaust scandal from the Volkswagen group.

AH yes! Dirty money. I forgot about that. I wanted to watch it.
Thanks for reminding me,.

What i found the most funny is that the most luxurious rooms from the trump tower where not in the trump tower but build on a set in a studio for the apprentice. All this time people looked in awe thinking Trump had all these rooms while in reality he did not. 😀

I've followed Trump for 30 years after he became popular in the 80's. He's been a dirtbag scam artist his whole life, and a lot of people actually thought the "Apprentice" character was a real person. If you want the hear the real Trump, listen to his 1990's Howard Stern interviews. Then realize THAT'S the guy leading the free world right now.

The US President is not the leader of the free world.
Not anymore, in any case.

Maybe the President of the US was the leader of the free world in the eighties and nineties.
GW Bush already did his utmost best to make the rest of the free world disassociate with the US.
Trump was the nail in the coffin.

You know what i find ironic and extremely funny ?
That an American investigator called John German discovered the Volkswagen emission scandal (defeat device principle). 😀
What are the odds... 😀😀

Good? We're not here to be nanny state and try to police the world and their views of religion and politics.

That said Trump's ego in general can't be healthy.

Well, be sure he is going to try to deregulate everything if it means making a quick buck.
If he will be in office for 8 years, the USA will likely experience serious smog levels again that it has not seen in decades.

The Dems are going to take over in 2018. Congress definitely and maybe the Senate. If that happens, Trump is gone. Not that Pence is any better from a policy standpoint but at least he's not a complete moron. Anything is an improvement.

Yeah he is a conman. Since his political bonafides is from birtherism I would love to see a documentary devolving the psyche of people who are so easily conned.

I wouldn't say Trump is gone if/when the Dems take at least one side of Congress in 2018, but a lot of his strategy goes down in flames. No wall. No more programs designed to hurt the poor for the sake of the wealthy. No more irresponsible deregulation (of the sort that depends on Congress, anyway). The only things he could do would be executive orders, and he's limited in what he can do with EOs that he hasn't done already.

Like it or not, there's a good chance Trump will stick around until 2020 -- even a perfect victory for the Democrats in the mid-terms probably wouldn't give them enough power to both impeach and convict Trump, since they'd want clear majorities for both the House and Senate for that to work. Of course, this is presuming Mueller's special counsel doesn't indict Trump on strong evidence before 2020, or that Trump doesn't grow frustrated and resign like the petulant child he is.

Amarosa (sp) disagrees with you, she said what Pence believes is scary. More scary than trump.

It was shocking to me talking to friends I thought knew better cast their votes for trump. We grew up as trump was coming of age in the 80s. He was a fucking crooked, bigoted, rascist, selfish POS back then and throughout his miserable career of ruining people as he steps up the ladder.

I just couldn't get why they thought he would change. Sadly, I don't speak with a couple of them at all anymore as they just like remaining ignorant and playing the spoiler, chaod. Sad. They are the exception; close trumpets I just refuse to talk politics with. Just can't take it anymore. Lay out the facts as I know them and then shut my mouth, haha

I think you're underestimating how toxic trump is making himself and the repubs. This is a very bad week for trumpets and he's apparently fixated on making it worse. Americans are waking up ( i think/pray)

The upshot is that Pence has none of the charisma and recognition that fooled so many people into voting for Trump. For goodness' sake, he's afraid of eating alone with women. He appeals to bigoted evangelicals and mindlessly loyal conservatives, to be sure, but he'd have a harder time swaying anyone who's on the fence.

And he could never get re -elected.

The president is leader of the free world as long as the money flows. The US paid for that spot with cash, troops, and weapons. It's always been "we'll be your friend if you'll pay us". Lets let another country have a turn at writing the huge checks. If China wants to be the world leader, the US should be right behind them, for the right price.

No, it's not that -- I'm saying that it's technically very unlikely that the Democrats can take that much control back based on the seats that are up for grabs. There are 8 Republican-held Senate seats up for a vote in 2018, and 26 Democrat-held seats. Now, most of those Democrat positions are safe, but the party couldn't actually get the 67 seats it would need to convict Trump even if it secured a perfect victory (it's safe to presume no Republicans would choose to convict Trump, since that'd be career suicide in the party's current climate).

That's why I'm saying Trump will likely hang around until 2020. It's not that there isn't a growing resentment toward him, it's that Congress won't have the numbers to oust him unless he does something so egregious that even power-hungry Republicans choose to remove him. Any departure before then would likely have to be due to either Mueller's investigation or Trump's inability to accept a loss of control.

What was our other option? I'll take Trump over Hillary yet, easily.

Sorry, haf. My counter was supposed to be that this pos is so toxic that enough repubs will have to stand up or they'll be gone as well. trump is losing it, this Mueller investigation, kids marching across the country, just on TV saying they "ignore" him... his russian game is coming to an end in my mind.

Thats what I was trying to say, lol
