I must be the only person in the world who's never had a single issue with Uplay.

GFWL died a well deserved death, but Steam/Origin/Uplay are fine by me.

Most games I played from uplay were on console so I did not have issues either. I've read of some bad stuff though with some people. Probably mostly user error or authentication issues.

Great, but at some point its going to bite you and then you'll be annoyed. The problem with DRM like this is while it works there isn't a problem, but it doesn't always work and when it doesn't you loose out. The warnings others give you are worth heeding, because its inevitable you will have a problem at some point in the future.

I said two pages ago that I have never had any issues with UPlay either, and that I found UPlay to be the least intrusive digital distribution and DRM software. UPlay doesn't even have a background service, unlike Steam and Origin.

Actually, Steam more often than not tends to give me the most amount of problems..

a CPU that can score anywhere from 9,000 to 10,000 points in Intel's PassMark for ultra settings.

And if you have less than 6GB of memory, the game may not even boot!

They couldn't stay satisfied with the bluffing of the 1080p60 on consoles?

It's not that the services have given me problems. I just hate having to manage multiple digital identities for a single activity. That, and the last thing I want to do is volunteer myself for problems in the future.

10,000 is an 4770 which you should have if you don't want a bottleneck in 2014 for new games (or less of a bottleneck if a 4930K ends up being preferred). Watch Dogs has the potential to hammer the CPU - AI pathing, draw distance, NPC density etc. Its not only what consoles can't do, its what is cut back on consoles is unleashed on a PC. Developer already tweeted a 4770 would do ultra anyway. As for RAM, same goes for 16GB. You can't expect your ancient E8400 and 8800GTX to still keep up . . . . .

I was a supporter of Uplay for a while until a certain update, then I stopped telling people it was as good as Steam. I still don't think you're able to have Uplay installed on a different hard drive than your games without having problems. It used to work fine and at some point that functionality got broken and ever since I've had to keep uplay stored on my games drive.

Origin isn't too bad except it never remembers my password. I have to enter it every time, regardless if "remember password" is checked or not. Really friggin annoying

Given how little of a difference Hyper Threading normally provides in most games, I've always been one to recommend an i5 instead of an i7. Depending on budget, users would normally see a larger difference over a larger number of titles if they put that $100 difference toward a better GPU.

Yea which is why when I built my pc I went with the i5 and the best gpu I could afford. Later this year I'll be upgrading the cpu and the gpu if anything around $450 gives me at least 50% improvement over my 7970ghz.

That's likely going to be changing this generation. These new game engines are all very threaded, supporting at least 8 threads.

We don't know how many threads the Disrupt engine supports, but we do know it uses an aggressively multithreaded renderer; at least according to Ubisoft.

I can get the Dedsec edition (among other gaming choices) for £20 using a discount code my dad got from his "secret shopper" thing he does.

So the question is, will this game be worth buying now or should I wait for sales? My machine specs listed below should run it just fine.

4770K @ 4.6GHz
Gigabyte Z87X-OC
R9 290X 4GB
32GB 2400MHz CL10
30" 2560x1600

You will be able to max it out fine. Especially with that cpu. It's up to you if you have been waiting for it go ahead. If you just recently got into it since its finally going to be out then I guess you could wait.

I suppose you are getting it through uplay or steam, so it's not like there will be a shortage of the copy available.

If that pc can't run it "just fine" then it must be the most broken game in history.

If my I5 at 4ghz cant match a PS4 then they are giving pc users unoptimized games.

My I5 is pretty stable at 4.2ghz but I haven't gamed a lot with it on that setting too much as I have not needed to. Wish there was a pc demo or trial of the game to see how it would run for me as I am curious but my friends and I are getting it for ps4.

Don't see much demos or trials being supported by companies anymore, unfortunately :|

I personally think those specs can get to med-high levels, not just medium settings at best.

The 290x is a good graphics card too

I'm not sure what he would need for ultra at 1080p. The 290x is a good card and that processor is decent. Dual 290's ? That's why I'll just play it on ps4 until I'm able to upgrade my pc further. I think he will be able to reach high settings easily with that setup.

The setup you're using now will look better than the PS4.
