You will be able to max it out fine. Especially with that cpu. It's up to you if you have been waiting for it go ahead. If you just recently got into it since its finally going to be out then I guess you could wait.

I suppose you are getting it through uplay or steam, so it's not like there will be a shortage of the copy available.

After Battlefield 4, Thief & Sleeping Dogs I am a little wary of buying "AA" or "AAA" titles at launch as they've all been a little below what I deem acceptable standards. Having looked at the french review linked above I think I will pull the trigger on this instead of Wolfenstein.

It's retail btw, Game has them in stock (my friend works at the larger local branch) so it's the one wit the statue etc.

How can they do a full review on a game that isn't released yet? Either they had a dubious source for the game or the publishers are co-operating with them to give early access, which hardly would lead to an unbiased review.

Not saying the game wont be great, but I would definitely take that review with a grain of salt.

It's probably out in other countries already. If you check psn live you would see people from overseas streaming it. There has been talk of early copies getting out and there have been videos to prove this.

But yea I'm not sure what their target was here if Ubisoft wanted an embargo on any reviews.

I think that review is an exclusive. Ubisoft is a French company, and that French gaming magazine Jeux Video is one of the biggest gaming magazines in France. So put two and two together, and the benefits of nepotism becomes apparent :whiste:

I can get the Dedsec edition (among other gaming choices) for £20 using a discount code my dad got from his "secret shopper" thing he does.

So the question is, will this game be worth buying now or should I wait for sales? My machine specs listed below should run it just fine.

4770K @ 4.6GHz
Gigabyte Z87X-OC
R9 290X 4GB
32GB 2400MHz CL10
30" 2560x1600

You should run the game at ultra settings quite easily I should say. The only thing that should give AMD users concern generally speaking, is that Watch Dogs is an NVidia sponsored game, so that means there's a strong possibility that the game supports DX11 multithreading; a feature that AMD does not support.

If the game does support DX11 multithreading, NVidia will have a big advantage in performance over AMD.. That doesn't mean that AMD will be slow in the game though.

I've seen people streaming it too, and immediately wondered why Ubisoft even tried to block out reviews when they let foreign companies have it

Well Ubisoft is a French company with other bases in different countries as well. People overseas find ways to get games early in easier ways than we can here. I looked on psn tonite but I didn't find any foreigners streaming yet.

That French review seemed to be alright for the fact that it wasn't very detailed. Who knows what political propaganda they have with their games over there. I hear it's the number one gaming magazine but it also holds favoritism sometimes towards one console or another.

I don't necessarily think Ubi gave them money but more like it will help gain sales if the company puts out a great first review seeing it is their home country.

Guys i heard that Watch Dogs will not run on less than 6gb ram and dual core cpu. But why ?? I have 8gb ram so i am good but i only have dual core cpu and radeon 7750 atleast i should be able to play on low settings but now it wont run on dual core cpu at all ?Why is it so Ubisoft ?Not everyone can afford i5 you know...

According to Jonathan Morin, the PS4 and Xbox One will be more or less equivalent to the PC running on high settings; minus the lower resolution and frame rate of course.

I'm assuming Watch Dogs will have a very high, and ultra setting on PC so there's more room for extra eye candy..

But I understand Morin's rationale why he and his team decided to go for high settings on the consoles, at the expense of resolution and frame rate.

With this kind of game, atmosphere and immersion are everything.

The game will run on less than 6GB, but there will likely be a lot of pop in and streaming issues. Remember, Ubisoft's 6GB minimum recommendation takes into account OS overhead; which will likely be close to 2GB or so.

Regarding the dual core CPU, I don't think you will be able to run it man. This game is going to hammer CPUs big time, and a dual core just won't be able to cut it I think.

May as well buy a console (unless you already have one) so that at least you will be able to play it.

What dual-core do you have exactly? Watchdogs is going to be very CPU heavy, and probably isn't going to be playable on a Pentium or old i3 / AMD X2. Might just be playable on newer fast Haswell i3's, eg, i3-4350/4360, etc. i3's "appear" as quad-cores to applications so its possible the game will mistake it for a quad if it doesn't specifically check for the model. 7750 might be OK on low, though I wouldn't expect 60fps. If you don't plan on upgrading soon though, it's probably best to wait for benchmarks before buying as it's really anyone's guess as to how it'll run on older hardware.

Yea the scaling to high settings looks great for ps4 and Xbox from what we have seen even though it runs on lower resolution. I think its a decent trade off for how dynamic the world will be.

I plan on picking it up on pc as well when it gets cheaper. If I find a gpu code on eBay for $30 I'll get it for pc just to test how it runs on my pc. I'm not upgrading any time soon and my I5 has been great for 3 years so far, well not even really a full 3 years but that will be the first thing I upgrade unless I find a deal on a high end 20nm card.

I've had nvidia and amd cards so I'm not brand picky but I'll go with what I can get for the best bang for the buck.

Here is the article that states for ultra you need a 4770k and a gtx780.

I love being able to run max settings in most games now but looks like I'll need a cpu and upgrade to do that here.

I was really happy with Sleeping Dogs, thought it was one of the best games of the year lol.

I'll likely pass on the game. I just got bored with all of these GTA style games. I'm looking forward to benchmarks though. That's always fun.

Well, I've been watching it and they are playing the game on the PS4. One of the most notable aspects is that pop in is practically nonexistent, which is awesome because it means their data streaming system is top notch. The PS4 version does look rather dull though if you ask me. It seems like there is no ambient occlusion, and the texture detail isn't that good.

Gameplay looks great though (challenging if you don't use stealth), and so do the animations.

Could be part of it maybe because of the stream? Not sure why my phones browser won't load nothing but the ad at the beggining of the stream. I hope this is recorded for me to catch it later.

I have Sandy bridge pentium G630,8gb ram and radeon 7750 1gb gddr5.Well better to wait and see if it works on any i3 then I will upgrade to i3-3220.Also its funny to think that amd kabini apu's like 5350 and 5150 will be able to run it as they are true quad core even though their per core performance is very less and there will be lot of stutter.I think Watch Dogs is the first game ever that will refuse to run on strictly dual core dual threaded cpu's.
