My wife liked it only for the scenery (she is homesick, she's only been in the states for 2 years now).

I think in the movie...... Bill Murrey orginally thinks it's lick then later on he says lip.............. funniest part of the movie for me 🙂

Jap is a derogatory word.

How many times does that need to be brought up here?

I am Japanese American and can tell you first hand it is derogatory. Just because its easier for you to say Jap than Japanese doesn't make it right. The correct way of shortening Japan is Jpn. If you guys can write the words American or domestic, why is it so difficult to write Japanese?

You are right on that, I forgot his replies....however, the people I have talked too seem to insist she was saying lick as well....(mostly onliner's so that's probably the reason for that as why would anyone want to rip off a perfectly good pair of stockings 😉 ).

You hit the nail on the head. It was like watching paint dry. Very painful. I want two hours of my life back. It was worse than another colossal bore called "Gosford Park". I can't say too little about this bomb. I kept waiting for something to happen. It never did. I guess it was wasted on the unwashed masses... Whew!

I can't really explain it, but I was left with a feeling that I had just watched one of the best movies of the year.
Yet I still can't really tell you what it was about or why I liked it.

It's a nice wall your ego puts up. Thinking everyone has no taste for liking a movie you have no comprehension of understanding. If the world was full of age 18-26 single males living in a microcosm of isolation, ATOT, and a few friends to drink sh!tty beer with, then I guess some of you guys would be correct in saying that movies that spoon feed you the emotions you can't normally empathize with due to LACK OF SOCIAL INTERACTION are considered better than the "artsy" pointless ones.

Rip is the proper word. It is making fun of the frequent inability of many asians to hear / speak the difference between the letter 'l' and 'r'.

I don't think anyone is supposed to know what was said at the end. But common sense says that he was a famous person and she can always find him easilly once both are back in the US. So it doesn't matter what was said.
