I don't know how the myths got started, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was nothing more than Allied war propaganda. The victors tend to write the history books. It's just like with Lincoln. Lincoln is portrayed as the savior of the republic and his racism is ignored while Andrew Johnson's isn't (and he certainly hated rich people more than he hated blacks). I don't hate rich people, but Andrew Johnson wasn't a bad President. He was a bad Vice President, but once he took offfice, he changed his tune as much as the Red Republicans would allow.

Considering the sources Anarchist references, I doubt additional reading would in any sense improve the quality of his posts; if anything, additional reading would increase the depth of his delusions.

This doesn't even meet the standards of a typical conspiracy theory nut thread. He didn't even put in the effort to link to some nonsensical "evidence" from a questionable source. He just says he thinks a history event didn't happen.

Genocide denial has always been a popular activity on this forum.

There are lots of threads where people deny the genocides of other groups/cultures, especially so-called Western nations. The trend I see is that many people here strongly identify with the latter cultures and the Japanese were the enemy in WW2 to many people in those cultural backgrounds. This really is nothing new, just the other perspective.

I said that I believe that the numbers were inflated and just because I don't believe everything I hear doesn't make me dumber than everyone who believes everything they hear. I may or may not be dumber than everyone else here and I'm sure as hell not dumber for not believing everything I hear.
