no, you're not setting anyone up. lol.

funny...I don't find your post funny yet you put lol at the end.

Did you have something intelligent to add or do you just think its neat that you can type things on your keyboard and they show up on the internet?

and what facts do you have to back that up?

(fair warning: I am setting you up)

I'm eagerly awaiting your explanation as to how a virgin giving birth is non-fiction, among other things.

A miracle is something that cannot be explained by man. So how could I explain it?

lol, of course. 2000 years ago a woman claimed to get pregnant without ever having sex. Definitely believable.

and several billion years ago, 2 atoms of nothing smashed together to create everything.

Very believable as well.

The bible is obviously a crock of shit. You can clearly see how it has been written and re-written by multiple authors. Archaeology proves that it is inaccurate. Common sense tells you that people who hear voices are not good sources of information and that it bears a startling resemblance to other creation myths that pre-date it.

Honestly if you believe that the bible is real you are very naive and have been brainwashed.

I find it hilarious, that you continually post ignorant garbage. Read a book, dead beat.

What archaeology has proven the entire bible inaccurate?

I would appreciate if you showed each and every biblical account, how it's been proven inaccurate, and the evidence showing it.

I'm off work, so I have all day.

Read a science book, you clown.

which one?

Science is ever changing. If I read the one I grew up with, it wouldn't be accurate today. Its as if someone keeps rewriting it because the previous version was wrong...

any book but the bible. I understand you leaned on Christianity to help treat your alcoholism, which is noble. But, in reality, it was YOU who made the decision to change your life, not Jesus.

Learning is terrible, we should stick to 2000 year old beliefs.

no...not really

I had zero inspiration and zero plans to do so. I was having a blast! I really do miss all the strange that went along with partying. Which is why I had to give up chicks. My mind is still too F'd up to not equate sex with partying.

like believing in gravity?

What?

Edit - Nevermind, I have no idea what your point is and I don't care, you're just deflecting. None of this has anything to do with the ridiculous notion of a virgin birth, and the other absurd things mentioned in the bible.

Yeah...as old as I am...that's still a bit before my time...but I DO believe it's fictional...written to control the unwashed masses. (same as the Old Testament, Koran, and Torah.) There MAY be a bit of factual history written in with the story, but for the most part...it's just a story.

Yeah my semi-cynical view is that all religions were founded by "smart" or "learned" atheists looking to consolidate power over the masses. I don't see how they could be anything but atheists because making up a story as the foundation of your own religion would seem quite non-religious.

More recent atheist troll examples would be Ron Hubbard or John Smith (do you think he really believed he found golden tablets?). If you follow the origin story of all religions you will probably find a bunch of atheist demagogues who may or may not have eventually come to believe the shit they made up at the start of it all.

Do you think Moses actually believed God inscribed the 10 commandments, or did he think up the 10 rules and decided to pass them along as God's will to obtain wider adoption?

Facts? Since when do we need FACTS to form an opinion? o_O

I just don't believe that the bible is "The True Word of God," nor that it is 100% accurate in the story it tells.

Of course, I also believe that "history" is an abomination of "His Story," and the rulers over the centuries have twisted the facts to serve their purposes.

"Live the way we tell you to live, or when you die, you will go to a place of endless pain and torment." as well as "Also, you will be denied entrance to paradise to live with your loved ones."
What better way to control the uneducated masses?
