Yeah my semi-cynical view is that all religions were founded by "smart" or "learned" atheists looking to consolidate power over the masses. I don't see how they could be anything but atheists because making up a story as the foundation of your own religion would seem quite non-religious.

More recent atheist troll examples would be Ron Hubbard or John Smith (do you think he really believed he found golden tablets?). I just don't believe that the bible is "The True Word of God," nor that it is 100% accurate in the story it tells.

Of course, I also believe that "history" is an abomination of "His Story," and the rulers over the centuries have twisted the facts to serve their purposes.
