See, here's the problem. Lennon's "ideal world" would only work w/cavemen or "newborn adults" that had never previously had physical belongings, or knowledge of social strata.

If you took everyone in Montana (for example, OK? No harm intended to any Montana-ans!) and fenced it in, made it it's own little country, took away everyone's money, bleongings, etc and made it a John Lennon state, they would remember how it used to be.

One man would start collecting more rocks than all the other men. One woman would have more sheep or cattle than any other women. These things would be used as "currency" and the whole thing would start over.


So, no; John Lennon was not right. Massively and Beautifully and Exquisitely Freakin' Roxored Stoned, yes, but not right.

I don't think you're supposed to take it so literally. Of course we could never do this now (wipe out all religion and boundaries). He's just saying "what if?" Wouldn't it be great? It's a poem, not a political suggestion.
