Wart Removal

Anyone have any experience with this? I am trying to remove these now myself. I have four I am trying to remove from my fingers. Two of them are getting 40% SA strips placed over them, and the other two ACV cotton balls overnight.

My concern is I have no idea how long this is supposed to take. I've read anywhere from days to weeks online. I'm on the day 3 now, and the ones that were under the ACV have been blackened, and the other two under SA, completely white, dry, and dead looking. The ACV is getting very painful overnight now. I've been able to razor blade a lot off so far without going too far and breaking actual skin and causing bleeding. My two largest have been cut down to skin level. And I have one that's right up against where my nail grows out, going under it slightly - this one seems like it will be a real challenge to remove...

For those of you who may have gone through this... do they just "fall off" at some point or am I going to have to keep cutting down myself until they look fully removed? I'm cautious because of the stories I've read about failed attempts with them spreading, and I don't want to get ahead of myself and somehow end up causing that. I tried to just razor blade one off once, and there was too much bleeding afterward and it came back. I've read freezing is very hit or miss, so even though I have purchased a kit, I have yet to use it. The SA and ACV seem to be working though...

Warts are caused by viruses. You have get your immune system to attack. That is what the acid or freezing is trying to do. It can take many months and I think a dermitologist is a waste of money.

I hope it doesn't take that long! Saying I had a soldering iron accident as the reason I've got all these band aids on my hand is only going to work for so long... 😛

Rub a potato on em. Seriously.
On my list now along with duct tape if the apple cider vinegar and salicylic acid don't do it.

Anyway, hope I can get more sleep tonight. The ACV is already starting to sting and I haven't even laid down yet.

I had one on my hand when I was a kid and had it frozen off. It had some slight discomfort and it ballooned up fairly large after, but then fell off and was gone forever.

I had a wart on my finger at one point and got one of the do-it-at-home wart freezing kits. I did a couple of treatments and it took care of it permanently.

This is the one I used:
Wartner Plantar Wart Removal Systems

Edit: Looking at this i remember that I had to fudge on the instructions a bit and really hold the freezing compound on the wart until it really stinged. It's got to penetrate deep down into the wart after all.

It really varies on a per-case basis. I didn't have any luck with the home freeze kits, but my father-in-law, who is a doctor, froze a couple of relatively deep warts on my foot off to great effect once--the warts were gone in a week or 2 and didn't return. I've had success with the acid a couple of times on my hand as well, and it may have taken a month at most once I started treatment, but they weren't very deep.

I had warts really bad on my arm for a long time and never had any luck going to my dermatologist. They would freeze them but they would always come back and usually worse than before. During this time I worked next to an herbal remedy store so I thought I'd check it out and see if they had anything that might help. The lady recommended me a herbal wart spray and suggested I take some vitamins.

The spray smelled terrible but it did the trick and they have been gone for a few years now.

I can't get the name of both the spray and vitamins when I get home since I can't remember either one of them right now.
