Warning: DO (NOT) ATTEMPT ;)

I only watched a bit of one of the videos (diet coke) (dial-up sucks!)

But, simple warning to those of you who have any desire to blow up 2 liter bottles under pressure: They CAN and have caused severe injuries. I fired a 2 liter bottle through a piece of plywood. (ooops, the piece of plywood was the bottom of a desk at school; I'm the physics teacher) Even I didn't realize just how much damage a "nice soft plastic" 2 liter bottle could do.

When I'm president I'll make it illegal to post threads about mentos and pepsi. I'll also make it illegal to have posted mentos and pepsi threads before the law came into power.

Oh, and I'll also tax sexual intercourse, but that's another issue entirely.

Some of you know about the neat tricks you can do with Mentos and Pepsi

I have to say though. Pepsi + CO2 is far cooler.

Just don't be an idiot and Pick up a loaded bottle

I laughed my ass off at the third video.

No Darwin awards yet though. 🙁

There is a darwin award associated with this actually.
A personal account anyway, technically not an award.
Scrambled Eggs

Bummer dude

Ever hear of a works bomb? Take any toilette cleaner containing hydrochloric acid and throw some tinfoil in. Let it reach ~180 degrees, then boom! Explosion. My friend had one go off right in front of his face. Fun times.

We actually pulled the mentos and diet cola (we've determined that store-brand diet colas are the most effective and the most fitting for this demise. After all, they're easier to clean up, and why would you want to ruin a GOOD soda?) trick on a drunk at the party last night.

"If you put mentos in diet soda, it distills it into alcohol"
"Whaaaaaat? Let me try that"
<PHZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"
"COOL!!!! *drink* Wtf, this doesn't taste like alcohol."
"You idiot."

Feh. Plenty of videos disprove the whole mentos/pepsi explosion, such as this video here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8694244338798619086&q=mentos+pepsi

It does work, actually. The mentos acts as a catalyst, accelerating the rate of decay of the carbonic acid, resulting in MASSIVE gas release. Dont' believe it? Go try it. It's not dangerous, so long as you don't put the cap back on (and the reaction accelerates at such a ridiculous rate that you've got to be superman to get it back on) - and just one mentos is enough to demonstrate it, without being too messy.

But props for the tigobiddies
