Crysis 1 with mods

Good thing crysis isn't a game that requires 60 FPS to feel fluid, but thank your for this post...it makes it easy to ignore people follwoing you down the wrong rabbit whole...
Holy crap, I never tried any mods for Crysis but I seriously want to give it a try now. Is this just modifying some configuration files or do you have to download additional content/texture packs for something like this?
This thread http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=417651 has a lot of mods that will give you an amazing impact.
Also a good ini mod can unlock more visual options.

The amazing thing about Crysis was that even in the shipping game 'Very High' settings were not the best the game had to offer. There are still many options that are dialled down on very high that can be opened up further.
I agree that there are a couple games with some individual features that have examples that are better than Crysis. BF3 has some amazing lighting at times, same goes for Metro 2033. Taken as a whole package and what it delivers to your screen, nothing is close to Crysis/Warhead with heavy mods.

Crysis is hard to run because it only uses 2 cpu cores. Crysis is old and it sucks.

OK, please name 1 game on the PC that looks better than Crysis but still gets nearly 60 fps on a single high end GPU?

Metro 2033, BF3 and Witcher 2 won't give you 60 fps maxed out, and I can't think of any other game besides those 3 that has better graphics than Crysis.
I understand what you are saying. It's better than being new and sucking though, which is the case with most games when compared to Crysis.![]()
That has nothing to do with using only 2 cpu cores. My old system with a core 2 quad runs the game over 60fps easily.

I played crysis recently and FPS wasn't impressive. It looked like a bland, dated game and the performance is falling behind the hardware because the engine is old and it can't use hardware properly.

Alan Wake and BF3 look better and run better. Crysis is just poorly optimized and always was. No reason for any modern rig to struggle with it if they knew how to use the CPUs cores properly.
Alan Wake does not really look better except for some lighting effects.Alan Wake and BF3 look better and run better. Crysis is just poorly optimized and always was. No reason for any modern rig to struggle with it if they knew how to use the CPUs cores properly.
