Good way to get your car stolen fellas. More cars are stolen in the winter months due to people "warming up their vehicles"

Yeah becuase it's not possible to run the car and have it locked too right?

Like its not possible to smash a window quick and have nice warm stolen car:roll:

Well, then don't run it for long time and park it in view. Some of us don't live in areas where that is a big concern. I can run my car at work for a half hour with the doors unlocked if I wanted too..

Quick story...

About 6 or 7 years ago, while finishing up in line at my a local 7-11, myself as well as other customers watched as a car was stolen right before our eyes. The owner could do nothing but scream, "Thats my car...that's my car!!" as the taillights faded. He gave foot chase, but a person on foot trying to catch a vehicle doesn't always fair well. Needless to say, the guy wasn't happy.
By the way, the car was left running, in very plain big window 7-11 view.

I was just trying to remind folks of what could be a very bad day;)

I get in and go.

Maybe I'd wait for the RPM to stabalyze, but my tachometer points to the black space at the bottom, between 0 and 7, and moves around randomly so I don't have anything to go on but pitch.

LOLOL i remember seeing the very same thing happened at a 7-11... maybe the lesson is to never park at a 7-11.

Its January in Vermont. You drive it cold or it will run out of gas before it warms up.

Mine starts up at idle of 800-850rpm, then drops to ~650rpm after the choke dis-engages....I'd be sitting there forever ;)

just wait for the engine to throttle down after the choke dis-engages.

4:50pm. I walk to the window of my office and double click my remote. 5:00pm I walk outside to a toasty warm inside of a vehicle :)

My dad makes me go outside and start the car, then waits 20 minutes while he makes a few phone calls, a sandwich, looks for his glasses, checks his email, and sets the house on fire. 20 minutes later, he goes out to the car and puts it in reverse before he remembers that he forgot something, then he repeats the process.

I wait 15-30 seconds, and shift a little delayed in each gear to help the engine warm up quicker. And no heavy throttle 'till it's warm.
