I received a spam mail from outpost.com saying you can pre-order Warcraft III.
The delivery date on my e-mail was for 6/28/02 so it looks like W3 will be coming soon!
Here's the link for the plain Warcraft 3
Here's the link for $74.95 Collectors Edition

I'm a Beta tester for this and it looks like a fun game, even though I've had difficulty getting into a game on BattleNet. Graphics are awesome but right now probably not as balanced as say Starcraft. Can't wait to try single player and LAN gaming.

I just wanted to point out that it looks to be released soon. I didn't bother to price check it anywhere else. A lot of people have been waiting for this to come out.

HOLY SMOKES! I have never seen any game costing that much except for maybe the last Ultima. That was cool though because the Dragon Edition came with all sorts of nifty stuff. Anyways, I doubt it will be out any time soon judging by the beta.

I'm beta testing it, too. Although I'm not as impressed with the game as I'd hoped to be, I was amazed at how well it's worked over Bnet. My DSL went down for a night and my dial-up ripped right into Bnet with nary a problem. And my dial-up sucks (and it's not a good suck, either).

correct me if i'm wrong, but the official beta going on right now doesnt have that many participants, so lag shouldn't be too much of a problem. Hope it will stay that way when thousands of people are all playing on the servers.

oh and i hope no one preoders this at 60 bucks... that seems like a pretty high price for this game i'm pretty sure there are much better deals for the preorder somewhere

<< isn't WC3 already out? my friend said he has it... and not the Beta, either >>

either your friend is lying, or you can make a ton of money by copying and selling it off him haha.

Game is still in beta. Just check battle.net for current status... I think they are on patch 1.11 and there are still a bunch of minor things yet to be implemented.

There is however a hack/kludge that some people have engineered and several battle.net clones to play on out there. I think Blizzard was a little shortsighted in allowing only a handful (was it 5000?) of beta testers.

Blizzard staff are a bunch of putas!

I paid about $70 for pre-order of Diablo II Collectors Edition. I would have not paid so much but these putas claimed that there was a limited production run of Collectors Edition. So as you guess all the Collectors Editions sell out (first few weeks) and Blizzard sells Diablo II for a few months (during which no B&M or online stores have Collectors Editions). Then all of sudden those pinche putas start selling the Collectors Editions all over the place! Here they stated LIMITED EDITION THAT WILL BE SOLD OUT IN THE PREORDER....Anyhow, I am not buying no more of those. I think my strategy now is too lay low for good deals, afterall Blizzard has been getting worse with releasing very buggy games and patches don't come till a few weeks into it.

think you can use the "word" 'putas' enough? lol
btw, when does this game officially come out?

War III has a way to go. They just released 1.10 which was buggy then 1.11 the next day, also pretty buggy. I reverted to 1.03. I'll probably be bored with it by the time it comes out.

Whoa... is it just me, or did anyone else see the end of the latest promo for the game? The one encoded w/ DivX 5.0 says at the very end, "This winter - the fate is in your hands."

It could be a reference to the game story (?), but it sounds more like an approximate release date to me.

I'll start by saying im a HUGE blizzard fan. I have all their games from warcraft1 to Diablo2. I have to admit I was dieing to play war3 so I couldnt resist when I saw this on morpheus, and downloaded immediately.

Well, after about 20 games im bored with it already. I find myself playing more Starcraft then this game, and ive been playing SC since day 1. Sad.

I'm hoping this beta is very limited, like diablo2 beta was, or this game is gonna suck big time ( which will be a first for blizzard).

PS- I'll still buy it of course, heck its a blizzard title and I'm still a fan...

Is it just me or are there usually great deals on games within a month of their release. I think awhile back MoH:AA was $30, same with Max Payne. Applying this, we can be optimistic and hope WC3 will be $30-40 a little after the initial rush?

I'd say WC3 still has quite a way to go. I've been beta testing it and playing quite a few games on the weekend. I will say that the balancing issues seriously need to be looked at. I've been playing SC:BW since day one and I'm still not tired of it. As of now, I've stopped playing the beta to WC3 because of these balancing issues.

The best strategy so far (until they address the amount of damage done) is sappers. Get 10 of these and walk right in and wipe out every building the enemy has.

I'm a beta tester too, and the game seriously does have a while to go before it goes gold. The current beta still has quite a few bugs to get worked out, but once they do, the second beta test will start (they're signing up major bug finders in the current beta as priority members for the next beta). I mean, they haven't even implemented quests, and there are about 10% of the creeps (NPCs) that they hoped to stick in in the first place. If War3 comes out this year, they're going to cut some major corners.

warcraft 3 or a SB Audigy/Santa Cruz Turtle Beach... hmm.... I think RTCW (return to castle wolfenstein) was 59$ for awhile when it first came out, or maybe it was 50$ or 55$... anyways I dont' think any game is worth 60$ especially with what u can buy for 60$ these days

$75 for the CE!? If memory serves, I believe I got the D2 CE for $60, and that was pre-order. I'd sure like to get the CE goodies, but $75 for a game seems a tad high.

--Oh, well, I can always get the regular version. That game is going to ROCK! 🙂
