There is a War On Easter

MUSKEGON, Mich. – In our increasingly politically-correct society, Christmas isn’t the only holiday too hot to handle for school districts. Easter, another holiday rooted in Christian faith, is now being marginalized by governmental entities.

SpringegghuntSchool districts and cities across America are holding “Spring egg hunts” and similar events, frequently omitting the word “Easter” from calendars and public announcements. Consider these: On March 16th, Flat Rock Elementary School in Anderson, South Carolina is holding a “Community Egg Hunt.”
West Shore School District will be holding its “PTO Egg Hunt” on March 16th.
New York’s East Meadow Schools will be holding its “Spring Egg Hunt” on March 19.
The Prospect Heights Public Library District in Illinois is holding its “Spring Egg Hunt” on March 26th.
California’s Manhattan Beach Unified School District has its “Spring Egg Hunt” in late March.
The City of Upland, California will hold its “Spring Egg Hunt” March 30.

Society is becoming more politically correct and calling the Easter Egg Hunts a "spring egg hunt". There is absolutley no reason to do this its just the usual pc types not wanting to offend others. This has to be stopped and we must call them Easter Egg Hunts. Culturaly sensitive bureaucrats are trying to take out the mention of Christianity. This is also not the only case and obama even refused to release a statement of proclamation for Easter and Good Friday yet he had no problem doing it for "earth day" and Muslim holidays like Eid

This is just another phase of the War On Christianity and it must stop.

Do you think this political correctness has to stop? Should the government stop trying to take out the mention of Christianity? Should they call them Easter egg hunts instead of "spring egg hunts"

Pretty much the only thing religion is good for in my books is the holidays from work that it results in. So I'm all for keeping the holidays but slowly leeching them of any religious significance. Thusly: I approve of this trend.
 
Someone doesn't know that there were no Christian holidays originally. They were all pagan holidays subsumed by the rising Christian culture. Enjoy your egg hunt and worship of Eostre.

i loved all the jewish and christian holidays observed in school. as someone non religious i didn't care what they were about, just we get the day off! ...need some buddhist/muslim/wiccan? holidays too.
