allright, I have a decent system in an aspire x-dreamer case. I love it except for the fact that my psu (thermaltake 480w purepower) has waaay too many cables which are waaay too long coming out of it which clutters the inside of the case like crazy. I've tried so many ways to clean it up, including moving the unnecessary wires to the other side of the case as well as electrical taping all the wires together. Still can't get it as clean as I like. Can you guys post pics of your clean up jobs and gimme ideas for how to get the maximum cleaniness out of the system? thx.

actually it looks damn clean compared to my system.... lol I should've sprung for a full tower case. I really have to cram all the wires in my mid tower. Wish I had a digicam to show you how bad it is.

My work rig's not too bad: link to photos Note the circular hole I made in the bulkhead to route the power-supply cables... that really helped and I had room to stash unused ones back there too.

I wish I could say my home system looked nice inside too... meet "TRASH"

If my work rig is a BMW, then my home system is like a well-beaten Ford F150 pickup :D I did finally retire my older 15k SCSI drive to TRASH, which is what's riding that big blue cable there. It sure does know how to perk up a system compared to the (now-unplugged) 7200.7 below it.:)

to mechbgon, shooters and Sifl, those are awesome setups. I'm really going to consider modding the back of my case like yours. In fact, I have about the same exact setup as shooters and sifl (3hd's, 2 opticals, 1 floppy and 1 ide controller card) which are real PITAs to wire. Right now all i've been doing is sticking my unused wires on the otherside of the psu where there's a railing which provides enough space between the psu and side to fit the wiring. Still messy as hell tho. Sifl do you have a similar setup to mechbgon where you modded the mobo tray to fit the power connectors? Also, i'm going to sleeve everything. Can anyone recommend where I can get cheap sleeving?

OMG! Where did you buy that fan mount? I NEED ONE FOR MY HD'S!!!!!

The drives are just mounted backwards, with the cables facing the front of the case. The back is an aluminum fan with a zalman fan mount, cut and epoxied to the fan. :)

Here's the front of it.

I changed the CPU cooler from a zalman to the thermaltake passive but otherwise it's the same. Dual stealth drive DVDR's and a blue lcd display hooked up to internal USB.

what hsf is that???

It's a thermaltake silenttower without the fan hood. The rear 120mm fan is reversed to intake then reduced to 80mm with an aluminum adapter to force it through the silenttower. It's hooked up to the motherboard and throttled to 50%, if it starts to get warm it kicks it up to 100%, although it has yet to need to do that. I need to put an 80mm aluminum screen on the end of that adapter to make it look better but otherwise it's great.

that's a great idea to reverse the hard drives. I'm assuming you're using standard ribbon cables instead of rounded? I don't see how thickly insulated rounded cables can make that small space. Do you still have fans blowing in the front of the case/rear of the hd's? Also, while i'm at it anybody have any experience neatening up an x-dreamer case? I'm looking at mine and I really can't see too many ways to unclutter the cables.

That screen is a plasma right? :Q

Just have to read it before my eyes will believe something that expensive made it as a monitor... you are one of the few that I envy ;).
