folgers is half decent considering the price if enough grounds are used. can't beat the price. and the current containers atleast have the gas valve so its packaged relatively fresh. it meets the low "tastes good as starbucks" benchmark. i'll probably stick with it till i get an espresso machine later

Most of the blends that Folgers offers are comprised of low-quality Robusta beans roasted who knows how many months prior to your receipt of the product. Starbucks actually buys quality beans, and while you're still not likely to get them fresh (unless you're lucky enough to get the beans that come in the vacuum bags from the roasterie itself) they're still much better. The single-origin beans are passable, high-quality, and beat just about anything else you get at the supermarket.
