ATI- XFX
Nvidia - EVGA

But unfortunately you don't find these brands in India, atleast I didn't until now. I know ASUS is an OEM for both and is available there too. I am not sure about powercolor's QC but MSI and Sapphire are good brands you can look into.

EDIT: I just did some quick browsing and a 5770 is around Rs. 10,500 /- and GTX 460 768 MB is for around Rs. 11,500 /-

If you can get a I5 760, and one of those video cards, you are set. Otherwise, you might as well, just sit still with what you have, you really need both.

Well if you can spring for the 460 go for that. But I'd like for you to upgrade your monitor to one that has a better resolution as well ;).

at 1366x768 the 5770 is fine but if the gtx460 768mb is not much more there then go for it. if you don't plan on getting a larger monitor any time soon then there is no need for a gtx460 1gb.

I would go with the 5770 personally, ATI has more of a kick as far as performance vs cost ratio. If the 5770 is 1GB, there is no reason to grab a 460.

At those prices, ATI does NOT have better price/perf. The 460 takes the edge here. It costs more because its better, obviously.

OP, If have cash to spare, the 460 is a much better choice. If youre limited, a 5770 is in your future ;-)

are you even reading this thread? how can you say a 5770 is a better deal that a 460 with the prices he listed, $210 5770 vs $245 460? thats only a 12% price differnce and the 460 offers at least a 12% performance differnce in most games. That would definatly NOT give ATI better performance vs cost ratio.

Hi friends,
Good evening from my side..
so GTX 460 is not easily available in India. If available in India its highly priced..
ASUS GTX 460-768 MB is for 290 dollors and the palit GTX 460-1gb is for 315 dollors.
only Sparkle gtx 460-768mb is available for 240 dollors and 1 gb is for 270 dollors.
and sparkle dealer told me that the price will go down after 10th of september. what should i have to do now.
these are latest tax paid price.
please advise.
Thanks

yeah if the price is going down in 10 days then if at all possible i would wait and then get a sparkle 1GB. Unless you are for sure going to stay under 1080P resolution in which case the 768MB model will do fine.

Hi everyone.
my current configuration is :-

intel core i3-530
corsair vx 450 watt power supply
asus p7h55-m motherboard.
2 gb ddr3 1333 mhz ADATA ram
aoc 18.5 inch Led moniter
1 tb WD caviar black 32 MB cache.

soon i'll upgrade the processor to intel core i5-760 and graphic card to sparkle gtx 460 1 GB.

so can you please help me about cabinet.
i am using a old cabinet.this cabinet has only 1 exhaust fan at rear.and no other fan expansion available .only cpu and psu fans are there .so should i have to go for a new proper ventilated cabinet. is cooler master ELITE 430 BLACK will be a good option.?
please help me out.
THANKS.

you need more ram. 2gb does not cut it anymore and some games will hitch. also with an i5 760 and gtx460 you will be pushing that psu a bit if you overclock. it only has 33amps on the 12v so its not really suited for a higher end system.

OP is in India.

Core i5 750/760 should be a good step up, or a Core i7 860 if you need 8 threads for video encoding especially. If you can sell the 530 back at market price, then the upgrade is not a bad idea if you really do a lot of video work.

yes, and also i7 950 requires a new mobo whereas with a 7 or 8 series cpu he can just drop it into his existing one.

Like mentioned above...you might wanna add 2 more gigs of ram MINIMUM if you're going to game. As far as cases...see if you can find the Rosewill CHALLENGER in india. Comes with 3 fans and plenty of room for technically anything.

Here is the newegg link if you want more info on it.

Pretty good budget case, you need those other 50 dollars you would spend on some fancy ass case to upgrade your ram. At least thats what i would so. Also, for your i5, try to get an after market cooler.
