Screw Walmart. I don't purchase from them because of how they run their business / treat their employees. Target / Costco FTW.

Not to get off topic... I feel that the 3-10$ that a person saves isn't worth going to Walmart to get a GIFT CARD... not actual $$ back in your pocket IMO

Yes, because I'm sure you dig deep into the ethics of the companies of every product you buy, place you eat, place you shop. I assume with that level of character you also don't buy anything from Amazon who, without a doubt, treats their employees like dirt and basically enables tax evasion.

This. I just entered a receipt. It says it will take 2-3 business days to compare prices.

Well, hopefully I'll get something.

Be prepared for it to take 4-5 days.

This is good, but if target is anything to go by probably not as good as it might seem. I find that for electronics (I care little about much else) there are so many slightly different model numbers that B&M use; just slightly different product lines. It's annoying. I have used price match at best buy a few times, though. It's welcome to have this at walmart.

Bingo, and Walmart is huge on this. You'd be shocked at how many electronics have a different model number at Walmart vs. the rest. I ran into this exact issue last year trying to price match a BF deal. They said it's not the same model, so they couldn't do anything.

They all do this, and have for years. At this point, I would be surprised if anyone is shocked by this.

Speaking for me, the cool part about this to me is that it's Walmart - with this we (my family) can get the best price on all the everyday items we purchase. When it comes to high-dollar items, I am always going to shop around for the best price.

1. Scan ...... in your Walmart receipt
How do you do this? Do I need to get a barcode scanner to hook to the computer?

Does this only work for things sold by Amazon or in the marketplace too? Often they put a low price and get you with shipping.

I was in Walmart today buying a financial calculator, TI BA II plus, manager was no go on pm to walmart.com, said it was policy not to match, but offered to do it as a one time thing for me.

While we waited I read the back of the package for the calculator and it was comparing to a pro model, so we decided to check Staples down the street and see if they have both. They didn't, Staples B&M price was $6 more than Walmart, but pm was effortless and we bought it.

Rag on Walmart all you want, they have cheap prices and employ the barely employable.

Its kinda gotta be done on your phone. WalMart has an app and just use your phones camera to scan in the QR code or I guess you could type in the numbers on the bottom of the receipt.

No, either use their mobile app, or just type the numbers into the website on a computer. You don't need a smartphone or a barcode scanner. The smartphone app just makes it easier since it scans the barcode for you, so you don't have to type it in.

Walmart has NEVER honored BOGO, its policy. Its right in the training manual. The only time it will is managers discretion. Which they say no to most the time.

I don't shop there, but in Florida they did honor it.

They also are no longer price matching Publix at all.

they won't be pricematching based on function so this won't help me much since they don't stock off-brand straight from china cables

If its within 30miles they will price match it.

Well here they have denied price matches.

I don't know what to tell you...

I avoid WalMart. The only thing I use if for now is the kid's school uniforms (logoless polos).

Occassionally fishing supplies and ammo, but now my local range beats their prices on ammo and has it in stock usually.

I used Ship to Store twice and both times they could not find my item for a couple days requiring me to make two trips for each and wait each time what was excessively long IMHO.

I'll pay a bit more to avoid that.

i do a lot of shopping at walmart but never bothered. thought it was just a PR gimmick. i'll give it a try.

"Savings Catcher checked advertised deals from top competitors in your area and found one or more lower prices. That means you get back $4.45!"

$4.45 for 1 minute worth of effort. Not bad indeed. Thanks for this tip.

According to a comment of the Gizmodo article: http://www.iheartthemart.com/walmartpricematchpolicy/

It's not just Amazon it's any online retailer:

I caught a news story in the early morning today that Walmart has been hit by a so-called scam because of the new price matching policy. I didn't really pay attention but apparently there was a vendor set up on Amazon to sell PS4s for $99 and a whole lot of people price matched it to Walmart.

Which is fraud. Naturally, they posted pictures. :p Now that they've brought national attention to this, I suspect it won't be long until they catch them on surveillance and track them down.

if a walmart supervisor followed the guidelines and still price matched a PS4 for $99, shame on the supervisor for not using judgment. even if walmart tracked these folks down, what can they do? a supervisor approved the transaction.

because it's really easy to create fake webpages, a lot of fake $19 price matches on products under $50 can add up to a lot of money. that might be a bigger problem in the end, because it is under the radar.

I foresee a lot of difficulty in making this work just because the level of employees WalMart typically hires.

Oddly, their eCommerce division is in the top 10 of highest paying companies out there with 2400 or so employees averaging $140-150k each. WalMart employs 2,000,000 employees.
