I go there for cheap ubiquitous items but not for groceries. Every retailer have equally tiny return windows for electronics.
I did have some issues trying to buy a new battery for my car fob at the jewelry counter. I asked if they had a small screwdriver so I could open the fob and figure out what size battery I needed. They had one but could not let me use "company tools". I then asked the lady if she would open it but she said that touching the fob was against store rules.

I'm not a huge fan of Wally World, but it's hard to beat their prices on a lot of stuff. There's one ~5 minutes from my house so it's hard to justify paying more at the grocery store or CVS for the same stuff (toiletries, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.).

I just hate shopping in general. Walmart is higher on the list of hate because it's much busier than the other grocery stores or Best Buy.

I do find it very weird that "profit" has become a bad word in the past few years.

I'm not sure why, but every single Walmart I've been to never seems to have enough registers open. It's frustrating when you have to wait in long lines because there are 30 people and only 3 registers open.

We go there because it's the only store locally where we can get everything in one place. Groceries, clothing, household, children's stuff, etc. Though I must admit we go to a local place for Meat and Produce.

I've never had a problem returning things. This is why people should get gift receipts with items they give to people. Yes, their policy is probably not spelled out well, bummer for you. And trust me, they don't need to have someone verify your item on the way in, there's someone watching.

No self-checkout lanes? There are like 12 or more self-checkout stations at all the local Walmarts around here. It's great. I never had to wait more than like 5 seconds to use one.

I don't think I've ever been to a Walmart that has self-checkout. There are 3 stores near me and none have it.

the walmart i go to just put in like 15 of them. rarely a wait more then a minute and 90% a wait less then 10 seconds.

that sucks, they are super convenient.

i don't get groceries at Wal-Mart usually, unless they have a good deal on some thing like cereal or crackers. i mostly go there because stuff like soap, shampoo, toothpaste, laundry detergent, etc, is significantly cheaper than my local publix.
for home decorating type stuff i go to target or shop online.

i dont love it, but i dont hate it either. it is just one of many places i go to try to get the best prices on stuff.

People still go to best buy? All of ours are like ghost towns.

We use Walmart as a grocery store, where you can occasionally buy a home product. I don't think I've ever purchased electronics there.

You sound like someone who can't read for shit. And whose parents did a shit job making sure you learned grammatical skills.

If you instituted a policy of not being an illogical retard, perhaps I would be more likely to listen to your highly ironic griping about my griping.

I wouldn't expect an basement-dwelling internet retard (such attacks are almost always uttered by those who actually fit the description more than the target) like yourself to understand an attempt at having some tact and not wishing to hurt the feelings of or be deceitful to a family member.

Oh I fully understand. What I cannot understand is why you're so butt hurt over this. Your need to come to the forums and spit out this ignorant drivel is beyond me. Its funny how you're so upset and so worried about hurting someone's feelings for just telling them politely you do not need or want the gift. But then you say in the same breathe that you don't want to deceive them? So apparently covering up the truth and not being honest to them is someone different? Not to mention you suggest defrauding Best Buy. So stealing from a company is a whole lot more honest than asking a family member for a receipt. Wtf kind of logic is that?

Dude, You're a pansy and you need to just own up to them that you cannot use the item and you would like to exchange it. Its FAR and away apparent that you are related to a bunch of sensitive cry babies who cannot handle the truth. But I guess that goes without saying ,seeing your page long rants about a company that did you no wrong. Always blame someone else. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree in your family. Personally, In my family, It's that thought that counts. They are compeltely understanding if somehing doesn't fit or doesnt work for another family member. That's the whole reason for gift receipts. But we are rational adults and capable of such.

First world problems.Someone needs a blanket and nap so they can stop the temper tantrum. Man up and talk to your family. If they love you, they will understand.

Fell free to just repost what I said and be a grammer Nazi. I expected nothing more from your reply. Let the ranting begin.

I don't object to a policy of requiring receipts.

But they don't have such a policy. I object to being trolled by shitty retailers.

edit: LOL, good thing it's not their policy to have to have the item in the box you're returning, though.

Maybe I'll just go do that for spite. ('Oh noes you're just part of the problem!' No, I think causing them to lose money is part of the solution...)

I think it was walmart that I had to return a tent to. Long story short, bought a tent on clearance for the family camping trip in several months. Upon getting to the camping trip, I tried to build the tent, but a pivotal piece was broken which rendered the tent useless.

No problem I figured, the box had the price stamped on it at $60 or something. Brought it in, and the cashier tells before doing anything that the best they can give me is the lowest price they've sold it at in their store (which is at least a 100 miles from where I bought it). She scans it, and boom, the lowest price was something like $90. The manager lady standing behind her was like, mmm, yep, that's what he gets. Do you want to go pick a new tent out? I says sure, and I'm on my way with a new tent, having made $30 in the process.

Walmart isn't great, but sometimes things work out in your benefit. People deal with them because they have EVERYTHING and are generally cheap enough in all areas to just go there, get it all, and be done. But, there are nicer options out there such as Target.

I hate walmart. To the point where I don't care if I have to spend more money to go somewhere else. The whole logic of I put up with it because its cheaper is why everything is made in China too.

I stopped going to my local Walmart, since I always seemed to get stuck behind the young Hispanic couple with a crying baby who's Debit/EBT card gets declined while I'm waiting in line at the cashier.

Seriously... it happened to me on three separate occasions!

Sucks they're not following their own no receipt policy. Try another Walmart. Call anonymously about no-receipt first.

In times like these, just think of China. They would just laugh at you for even saying "return".

Mine has pretty good produce. The problem is the price. It's as much, if not more expensive than local indie, and regional chain shops, and I prefer giving my money to smaller stores.

I believe all Wal-Mart stores getting a remodel should be getting Self Checkouts, new produce fixtures, and re-install of fabric departments. Seems like Wal-Mart might have bought 10,000 or so self checkouts last year...

I hate WalMart, but the people watching is unmatched.

Thankfully, the closest Subway is located in the local WalMart. So when I'm in the mood for a mediocre foot long sandwich I get dinner *and* a show for $5.

I've never been to a Walmart. They are all way out in the suburbs and I try not to go out to the suburbs.
