A pack of Dial soap is a pack of Dial soap. A box of Frosted Flakes is a box of Frosted Flakes. Target is CONSISTENTLY higher-priced than Wal-Mart, so I shop at Wal-mart.

I don't give a crap about a "premium" shopping experience. I have better things to spend my money on instead wasting it by paying more for an item someplace else.

I walked into a 24-hour Wal-Mart early this morning and got a Christmas card, two boxes of chocolates and two DVDs. I was in and out in about 5 minutes (went through self checkout).

Why the hell would I go to Target to buy the EXACT same items for a higher price?

People have different priorities. Some want the rock bottom prices, others would pay dollars more for a better quality shopping experience. I used to belong in the former, but life is too short now that I'm getting old and gray.

..you haven't been to a walmart in san antonio....:disgust:

The one on 1604/Culebra isn't bad at all. The one on 410/Military is pure hell. It should be nuked.

Walmart has a star in their name. Wal (star) Mart

Target does not

Walmart is better because of the star.

I can guarantee you pay a price premium to shop somewhere. Newegg, a certain auto parts store, a grocery store, a clothing store, etc. Sometimes it's worth it.

I love Target and will gladly pay the extra 15 cents per item to shop there instead of Walmart.

I'd pay an extra 30 cents for dish soap or whatever to not have to deal with that crap. If you're really so strapped for cash that you have to subject yourself to that to save 5 or 10 bucks total, then it's time to reevaluate your career options.

Your crap isn't an "annoyance" to other people. I don't usually shop at Target b/c I don't feel like consistently paying more money for the exact same item.

And I don't mind seeing what you people call "trailer trash" or "ghetto folks." Get over yourselves, you aren't so high and mighty. When I go to shop, I go in knowing what I want (and where everything is), get it, get out and go home. I don't linger around in ANY store -- I hate the whole shopping experience PERIOD...no matter where it is.

Not really. I shop at Food Lion instead of Harris Teeter, I get most of my casual clothes from Old Navy...and only when they are on clearance, I buy items from online stores for the CHEAPEST price at the most reputable places. I haven't bought from NewEgg in a long while b/c their prices have gone up.

QFT. They opened a Super Wal-Mart here about a year and half ago. It's very clean and the people are not that bad. I live in a nice part of the town though near the lake. Most of the people that are shopping there are Milfs :)

I love target, but as NFS4 said, why on earth would I pay more to get the same thing?

Actually some of the same name items are higher quality at Target, and other places, then wal-mart. Walmart puts such a hard squeeze on their vendors that they make wal-mart only items. Sometimes you might get a little less oz in a product or just lower quality.

Becuase some of us dont feel the need to subject ourselves to a lower standard just to save a few bucks.

The Target stores I shop at have no annoying music and no PA system announcements. The employees all communicate by 2 way radios. When you walk in you feel like you are in a modern shopping environment.

Wal-Mart makes you feel stressed out the minute you enter the store. Noisy, rushed and cluttered. The most disgusting thing is items in the clothing sections thrown on the floor by trashy customers and ignored by employees.

I shop at both but only on Sunday mornings.

Walmart is the company everyone loves to hate

Target isn't

btw I live in plano tx and the people who shop at my walmart are all middle/upper class people. The walmart workers are all quite friendly and the store is clean. Your walmart experience depends on where you live I guess.

i agree with you on all except 2 things
the lighting 5) most almarts i have been to have plenty of lighting especially with their ceilings being higher and i have been to more targets that are darker
and the crow, yes walmarts are more crowded but that is because they are cheapert han target so more shoppers, can't really complain about that
i shop at both but i go to walmart more since like i said it is cheaper and the "nice" stuff at target are too expensive like electronics so i would never go there for that anyway

also what state are you in? i know the wlmarts here in socal SUCK but the ones in other states like in FL where i was stationed were wayyyy nicer and open 24/7

must be your walmart. everything you said except for the tons of people shopping there, is not true about my local walmart.

Exactly why are you interacting with these people? I walk in, get my stuff and leave.

They don't bother me - I don't bother them. It's pretty easy and they're people also. I feel no need to discriminate against them.

I also almost always use the self checkout. It's easy and I get out quick.

oddly for most of your points its just the oppisoite.

the Wal*mart is cleaner, wider isles, plenty of light (lots of skylights), more workers to help you, more cashiers etc.

only thing is wal*mart is packed. no big deal still enough room to get 3 carts down the isle. they also have more then enough cashiers open etc.

teh Target is usually dirty, cramped and usually only have 2 cahsier stations open. BUT as mugs said when they have clarence stuff its great but so does wal-mart but you gotta be there when they clearance it heh.

Hahah, man, I dont interact with anyone there. But the rowdy crowds and people running all over the place and items being thrown around. Of course, thats an exaggeration, but it's like being in a flea market. The self checkout was a good idea, and I always prefer to use them at other stores. But at Walmart, they never seem to work.

They breathe on me... through their mouth usually. ;)
