So it's the cashier who's the idiot for not checking? I agree, someone was an a**hole for the switch, but I'm not sure the cashier takes more responsibility than the two guys who were in a hurry.
I dont know if you have worked for retail or not, but when an item is returned, it can be categorized as new (which means it will be put back on the floor), open box, defective, will-be-written-off. In this case, the camera was returned as new. Did the cashier check to make sure that it was indeed new? NO
Would you like to shop in a store where you have to check everything that you purchase to make sure that they are selling you the products that are supposed to be in the box? I don't think so.
