It starts at 6am, as all the 24 hour walmarts close down Thanksgiving night until 6am the next morning.

Hm. I saw the speculation that the Walmart Laptops would have ATi 200M IGPs and S-Video out. Can anyone confirm that this is definitely the case, or will it be possible to do so soon?

Be sure to check multiple stores becaue prices differ. I posted anothr thread about this but wanted you to see it too. I checked two stores witin 30 miles of each other and found Polaroid 15" LCD tv for 198 or so at one and 178 the other. The HP notebook was $488 at one and $378 at the other.

Good luck in finding the best deals.

bummer, I was hoping to find a 42 or 50inch TV, guess I gotta wait for bb, frys or cc to come through.

Did you check out the 51" Toshiba that Sears is going to have?

You might be in luck. W_M now shows a 42" plasma for $997!

If we were to go on Friday, what time would we realistically need to be there in order to snag one of the laptops? Anyone have experience with Walmart BFs?

Does not depend on store now. It is supposed to be 379 or 389 (too tired to remember which) at all stores that have it.

As near as I can tell from the driver downloads for this laptop it looks to be an ATI Radeon Xpress 200m chipset on this laptop. From what opinions I can find the video on this is equivalent to a Radeon 9600se. Nothing special, but blows the doors off the crappy intel video that comes on the intel chipsets.

I rather imagine it'll be rather heavy and the battery won't last very long, but for $378 pretty hard to go wrong on this deal. I'm no fan of Walmart but this is far better than the Dell $399 laptop deal with the crummy intel video.

I am also a 'walmart BF newbie'. If I want to grab a laptop,. what do I realisitcally need to do to get one? If the store opens up at 5am, will there be a line already?

Thanks

Also, some of the items are available online. Do those also start at 5am, or can I order it before then?

Wow the laptop lists as 378 for the ads in my area. I will definately be getting up for this one. I dont care what components are in the damn thing i will reformat it right away anyways and if there is a problem it goes back to HP and hopefully i will get a non walmart version in return. This will make a perfect laptop for college so im not concerned at all. But like a few others ive never done the whole black friday walmart thing. How realistic is it that i will snag one of these? I will be in line at 5 that is for sure. Im from a town of about 50,000 so im hoping it wont be horrible.

I am going for the Lexmark printer/copier thing. Its not for me...its for a gift...so I don't mind if it sucks.

Any opinions on 42" plasma TV? It looks good on picture. I am not sure that price is good because it's $997 (not $597 as I expected). I can recognize VIORE as a vendor, who is actual plasma panel vendor?
