This is not the CEOs' fault. They played the hands they were dealt, legally. Unfortunately, Congress gave them a beautiful hand to focus on short-term profit rather than long-term solvency. The regulators were merely doing the job that Congress assigned them. If you want to blame anyone, blame Congress and the President.
You get circular here, when the corporations get involved in the political system to pressure for the relaxing of rules that leads to problems.
Blame the corporations for pursuing short-sighted greed? They're incented to by the very definitions of their structures, the 'sociopathic pursuit of profit' as "The Corporation" shows.
Blame the leaders who are elected because they use the money from those interests? They're just doing what our political system rewards.
Blame the voters who let the election be dominated by the well-funded candidates and who don't demand reform?
It's a big problem with lots of finger pointing that can be done. I think the basics include getting the 'sociopathic corporations' out of the political system.
However, that's a tall order. When's the last time you heard much talk from the candidates or other MSM against the 'corporatist agenda'?
