what kind of ghetto bank do you goto that you can't even use your debit card as a debit card?

I think everyone has been wondering this since the beginning of this thread.

It's Bellco Credit Union...never really bothered me that much

Walmart is the cheap crappy no service store of America. If you want low prices expect no service and crap made in China (By some person working 18 hours a day for 13 cents an hour).
You get what you pay for.

I just buy deoderant, toothpaste, TP, etc... and maybe some groceries too while I'm in there. None of what you said really applies to any of those items.

I don't mind people writing checks for a decent sized purchase, but lunch? No wonder she miss typed the number, she probably thought that sucked, too!

Check fraud is HUGE and since HE WROTE A CHECK and the cashier punched in the wrong DL number (but it was invalid in their system-which is connected to a universal 3rd party check system that Kroger , safeway, target, and Wal-mart all use) a big red flag popped up that wouldn't allow the company to accept his checks until they erased the invalid entry and reset the account. YOu really need to call their customer support (you can find the number online) for billing and financial services-or go talk to a financial manager in the store.

This is not a fault of the company nor a fault of the individual-it's the scum of our society that knowinly write bad checks with fake IDs.

I'm appaled at the lack of maturity and understanding in these forums.

I second this motion. In general people's attitudes on these forums have been down right ignorant. All anyone ever seems to want to do is rip somebody a new one over nothing. Its no wonder that we're losing members to other boards. You people need to unplug, get up, leave the house, and releive some stress. The amount of rude and inconsiderate comments that you people make is insane. Maybe before you type something you should put it through a mental filter. 1) Is this comment necessary? 2) Would I make this comment in person to my Mother? 3) Is anyone going to benefit from this comment? Take some responsibilty for your actions. I'm willing to bet that most of the comments on these forums break one of these rules.

Screw all of you. I write checks all the time. I really should get a check card though... just haven't gotten around to doing so. I rarely carry cash because I will spend it much more quickly. BTW, my checks are always filled in completely, except the amount, by the time I'm to the front of the line. Hell, at most places where I eat I know what what the total is going to be for my usual meals and in these cases I spend less time paying than ANYONE using a ANY card or even cash.

Don't be stupid. If you write a LOT of checks, then you know as well as anybody how many steps they have to go through to process it, and that varies from one store to the next. In this case, she would have had to "...asks for my Driver's License. So she's starts typing my ID number in..." I'd have been long gone by then having paid cash...

Stupid? WTF? STFU asshat. I was talking in general about the absurd resentment against check writers. Most restaurants and fast food places take checks with no ID required... they usually just want your phone number and DL on the check, which my checks already have on there. You specifically referred to people writing checks for lunch which is why I gave my example about buying meals. And, no, I would still beat you with my check at most of the places I would frequent for meals since I have most of the totals memorized.

This topic is about this instance at Walmart, which would have left people waiting behind you, while the cashier went through the normal routine for processing your fvcking check for a $3.00 lunch!

Checks? Credit? WTF Happend to good old american paper and coin MONEY?!?!? You know that green and silver and copper stuff some of us pay with...if ur not carrying around enough to wash your car and have lunch heres a novel idea....go to the bank and draw out some more OR go to a close by ATM (there EVERYWHERE nowadays) and draw out $20...why does everything think they have to deduct from an account or buy on credit anymore? I especially like paying with cash at walmart since half the people that work there dunno how to count anyways 😛
Kudos to walmart...best store evar imho...where else can you pick up both a 24 pack of coke and a 30 pack of oil for under $15 😀 If your getting screwed when ur paying them ur not doing it right not them 😛

"Would I make this comment in person to my Mother?"

Gee, that's not too retarded. Whens the last time your mother said Walmart sucks, followed by a 5 minute long, stupid rant?

I say it all the time.. but i always go back 🙁 *shakes head in disgust*

On a side note though.. It sucks that you have to waste time to get this fixed maybe you should call a regional head office for Walmart and ask for a giftcard for your troubles (like someone else stated).. And why would your debit card not work as a Debit card at Walmart. .. THAT is a question for your credit union that you need to ask because that's not normal.

I've never had any issues since all my info is on the check already. It's easily as fast as a card most of the time since you have to sign for them. Really, if you are that annoyed by a few extra seconds (what, like 10?) then you just need to keep your ass out of public places.

So much horror. Writing checks in line. :disgust: Walmart employees. :disgust: I've heard some awful things about the employment practices at Walmart which lead me to distrust pretty much anyone that works there. Fortunately, I rarely shop there.

Walmart is pretty ghetto... even though I shop there for certain things myself. I will never go back to this food court at Walmart. Ugh. Nasty conditions.

Kmart is worse than Walmart. Target is the cleanest.. pronounced tar-zhay. 😉

Before I even set foot in Walmart, I prepare myself for dealing with the tribulations I'm about to encounter. I don't even begin to think I might be able to get any help or directions from anyone, so that's no problem. Now, they're installing self checkout lines, so I won't have to wait behind people fumbling with their purses, trying to get the sale price on a bag of pork rines, or writing checks for lunch.
