Wal-Mart Sucks!!!!!

I have never been more pissed off at a company ever in my life. Today at work (an Office Depot next door) I figure get something out of their deli for lunch (so I can write a check, for over since I can have change to wash my car). I get to the register, start writing the check and give it to the cashier. I barely write any checks, I always use my debit card, so the cashier asks for my Driver's License. So she's starts typing my ID number in, she has to do it twice from what I saw on her screen. What happens next is that a prompt comes up saying that my check is declined, since they have 3 checks on file for that number totaling 1,200 dollars. I saw that and thought "WTF?". Apparently she thought a 6 on the ID was a five and mistyped the number. She saw that and called the manager to void the transaction and rerung it, but since she inputted the ID number my checking account was tied to the bad ID number and wouldn't accept the check. The thing that gets me the most is that now on my day off tomorrow I have to call the check company to fix this (hopefully). Nobody working there offered to help me at all. Wal-Mart is the asscrack of America. Thanks for hearing me out...

I think you deserved it for attempting to write a check. I hate people that write checks. You should have used your debit card and gotten cash back.

I usually follow check writers outside and beat them to death in the parking lot. I'm just trying to do my part to make the world a better place.

Another case of a bad employee hurting a business tonight.

I applaud Walmart for messing this up. I'm like Griffin, check writers deserve immediate death.

My debit card only works as credit. I've had this account for a couple years and this is my 4th check that I've used...

For one, your rant sucks.

For two, I don't even think you know what you're talking about.

ID number? Tied? Checking account? Check company?

Either the employees working there didn't have a clue, you don't have a clue.. or both.

I vote on the latter.

😛

Then it's not really a debit card, now is it? You do know that you can get cash back on purchases when you use a debit card, right? Oh, but yours is a CREDIT card. Nevermind.

The ID number on the Driver's license is what they use to track checks you write...Stores rely on 3rd party companies to check people that write bad checks. The most common way to tie a checking account number to a person is with something as common as a driver's license number (I used ID number so I didn't have to type as much...) Don't you ever wonder why they ask for your ID when you write a check and input a number?

I vote on Eli has no clue

In which case HOW could any of this be tied to you if she didn't input YOUR ID number, but an incorrect one?

It's not a debit card if it only works as a credit card. In that case it is a check card without debit features. In fact WTF are you talking about? Can you get money out of the ATM with your card without cash advance fees? Is it tied to your checking? If so then WTF would you not hit the DEBIT button instead of the Credit button?

I'm confused as to why your Debit card only works for Credit?

If it's a debit card, isn't it supposed to be used like a ..... i dunno, a Debit Card? (hence, you can get cashback)

Is your card a Checkings Card? Cuz that can be used as both Debit or Credit actually.

I've never written a check in a store, but yeah.. I have wondered that.

I had no idea that they tied your ID number with your checking account number though. The whole thing just seems silly... did you get the necessary information from the wal-mart employees(company to contact, if what you say is true)?

Anyone else have anymore knowledge about this? I admit I don't really know anything about it, but something about what happened & what he's saying doesen't add up to me..

What about stupid impatient people who complain about check writers?

I find your story suspicious. Who spends $1,200 at Wal-Mart??

checks on file for that number totaling 1,200 dollars.

Nothing suspicious, you just need to do a better reading.

That's only 3 checks on file. $400 a piece. That's some hefty shopping for Wal-Mart. Heck, the Wal-Mart I went to I got 8 two liters of generic soday for about $2.
