they ask the reason for returning so they know whether or not to resell it or have it sent to their claims center. The claims center requires that a certain % of the product be there, otherwise, the store will be charged back. They were doing their job. suck it up and drive on.

I hate Wal Mart with a passion, however it is not unreasonable for them - or any retailer - to ask for everything back even if that includes the instructions.

Yup. I've had people try and get into arguements with me over things like that before. I tell them to get the **** out of my store.

Retailers are not required to take back any return for any reason. Be happy we let you do it, if you throw a fit, we (well, most of us) will throw you out.

So even though Wal-Mart offers a guarantee and a period of time that you can return items that are non-defective, they shouldn't have to accept returns that are defective?

I understand that, but that is one of the reasons why Wal-Mart became so popular is because of their lenient return policy. They've since altered it (used to you could take back anything even a couple years later and get a refund/replacement, but they've limited it to like 90 days for most things).

Yeah, I had bought a dremel from them once, thinking I was going to use it, but didn't, so a week later I returned it. The guy was like, why are you returning it, and I was like, becuase I don't use it/need it, and he just gave me a strange look like I couldn't do that. He never complained though and did the return as asked. I was just like, you have a return policy, that I'm well within the bounds of, so no need for dirty looks.

You know why? Its because people take advantage of the system. They put those policies in place to make people happy but they can't have people abusing it. And they really do. You know the most returned item we had a Sears? Universal remotes...why? Because they "didn't work" aka, they are too lazy to read directions.

exactly, i don't deserve a dirty look!!

one more thing. walmart's banner (at the c/s center) said something like our #1 priority is customers satisfaction.

well i wasn't satisfact with your c/s and your product.
