Waco: babies intentionally tortured with tear gas

The movie presented some pretty solid evidence that those in charge realized that the children in the compound would not be protected by gas masks... Their strategy was to torture the kids with the type of tear gas they used, hoping the parents would surrender.

They also presented pretty solid evidence that it wasn't those in the compound who started the fires the resulted in the deaths of just about everyone... The tear gas powder was disbursed in a flammable vapor from the tanks. They also fired tear gas canisters into the building, some of which were incendiary (could start a fire). Plus, while the building was beginning to burn, there was infrared photography that showed automatic weapons being fired INTO the building near the exit areas.

Normally I don't watch those shows, but I found myself watching about the last 1 1/2 hours of the docu-drama about what happened at Waco. (it's been on HBO or Cinemax or some other premium channel) That show made an incredibly convincing argument that government officials were lying through their teeth, trying to cover up what happened, and pretty much just decided to kill everyone in the compound. Infrared photography was showing automatic weapons being shot into the building from behind the building (out of view of the press and television cameras) while the building was starting to burn... all sorts of evidence was presented of a cover-up. I never realized it was so bad.

If you get a chance, watch a few minutes worth of it... I'm sure they left evidence out that supported the governments case in order to make their case stronger, but I was left with a feeling of wow and shame for what the government did.

editted... apparently title wasn't as interesting as I found the show to be.

It was shown in the video that as the fire started burning, shots were fired into the building in areas near the fire and where people were in the building... bodies had been found with bullet wounds (and massive burning)

The tear gas agent that they used was highly flammable... it was injected into the building by the tanks... They also fired tear gas grenade things into the building... within 300 yards, getting hit by one of those shells could be lethal; yet they fired them into every window.

Plus, as the tear gas stuff burned, it produces cyanide... they showed the body of a young child all twisted up due to the cyanide. There was some pretty gruesome stuff in the movie.

But, one of the worst decisions to realize was being made was this:
The authorities KNEW that the gas masks wouldn't protect the younger children.. One of the expected outcomes of using the tear gas was that the parents, out of concern for their children, would surrender....

Basically, the government intentionally tortured young children to make their parents give up.
I think that was just sick. The adults were making a choice, but then again, they really didn't have a choice... it was their faith that they believed in. Their only other choice was to exit the compound and risk eternal damnation.
But the kids....

I really don't care what happened.

If I were the FBI I would have bombed the place to begin with.
The weapon-waving warrior whackos in Waco got the whacking they warranted, woohoo!

If they didn't barricade themselves in this would never have happened.
They were being lawfully ordered to come out and they didn't comply.

This is USA not Columbia where everyone knows someone who has "disappeared".

If you're referring to the Emmy winning Waco: The Rules of Engagement, it was one-sided though not dishonestly so. To the credit of the film's producers, they tried to get other government officials to respond but the few who made it into the film were the only ones that would agree.

In fairness to some of the officials who declined to respond, they were probably restrained from doing so due to the on-going investigation into the government's conduct. The film also tries - though minimally - to fairly represent some aspects of the government's position.

It's a helluva lot more honest of a documentary than Michael Moore could ever make, let alone conceive of.

If you're referring to Waco: A New Revelation, I cannot comment on it because I haven't seen it, though I do not hold-out much promise for the veracity of any view or argument that would resort to such depserate lows as offering the sheer lunacy of former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark as a source.

The fire was started and they were resisting arrest to begin with. I can't really feel sorry for anyone that died in it(including the children) because they were being molested and beaten and refused to tell their parents. You can say they and their parents were "brainwashed" all you want, but it is a known fact that numerous families and individuals left the compound and/or the group once they saw the patter of physical and sexual abuse. I have no sympathy for anyone that holes up in a fvcking compound and listens to a religious nutjob. You know I can feel sorry for anyone under 12 that died... but other than that fvck em. Plus, you are asking me to feel sorry for felons that were offered a chance to surrender. Not gonna happen.

Okay, i have no clue about what you guys are talking about, so if someone could elaborate for me, i would appreciate it

Welcome to John Ashcroft's America.

Oh wait, what do you mean Janet Reno? We all know only conversatives want to gas babies.

Exactly, people need to understand the nature of man. Those in a group who feel alienated from those around them close ranks and do things they normally wouldn't do. Law enforcement, like any person in authority, can succumb to these pressures and those who control the law have the greatest opportunity to do harm.

A man who called himself Jesus took his cult and gathered hundreds of illegal weapons and barricaded themselves inside their compound at Waco, Texas. The FBI came with warrants for their arrests and so on, and ordered them to surrender. Jesus didn't want to goto jail, so he convinced his cult to stay with him and resist the American devils. Eventually after many days of loud music, blaring lights, and sleepless nights, the FBI stormed the place. That's where it gets fun. There is video of FBI dudes shooting into windows, and FBI dudes getting shot from people inside the building. Tanks roll in through the walls, and shoot various rounds of god knows what inside the buildings. Said buildings catch fire and burn most of the people to death. Jesus himself died.
They have proof that Jesus was molesting the kids of his cult members. They have proof that they were amassing weapons to fight the US Govt.
Some say Jesus started the fire himself, some say the FBI started the fire.
I say if my house was burning down I would get the hell out.
