The issuer wants you to use it cause they charge higher use rates than a regular credit card. And it's directly connected to your checking account so anything that does go screwy means you are out of your actual money until you can get the situation resolved.


Use a simple no fee CC with a simple cashback or easy to redeem merchandise program and pay it off every month allows you to avoid all the problems with a debit card as well as get something back in return.
