Hmmm.. When I go to the refresh rate panel, and uncheck hide modes that the monitor cannot display, I get up to 120 available at 1280x960. If I increase my res to 1600x1200, I get up to 100. At 1920x1440, I get up tp 75. Does this mean that Windows is auto detecting the max refresh rates even though they are unsupported?

I have a Micron 17" monitor and I have no idea on what the heck the model number is. Windows XP allows me to select any refresh rate I want. I picked 75. (Was at 60 for the last three years.) How do I know if it can correctly display that refresh rate?

its pretty safe. just choose the one you want and if it can't handle it, you see nothing for 15 seconds. it then switches back because you didn't click that it was ok:p trial and error:)

you can get a sweet 22" flat crt for the price of a 17-18" lcd:p :) get one of each, but crt 0wns for games and video/graphics.

I've got my 17" LCD at 1280x1024 75 hz. Why should I run it at 60hz?

i think with my ati card i can request it not show me refresh rates that my monitor can't handle. 1600x1200 @ 75 Hz, which is the max my 19" will support at that resolution
