We've been paying for about $50 - $55 a month for Verizon with Caller ID, call waiting, and 40 minutes of LD a month.
Found out from a friend that for about half the price I can get the same thing from Vonage. It's even better as it has a ton more features than we have now, we get to keep our phone #, and we get 500 minutes ld a month.
If that wasn't good enough because my friend referred us we get a $40 credit. Signup was $68 total including the first month of service and the Cisco ATA 186 unit. All we need is a router which we already have.
If it wasn't for the fact that I trust my friend and he's been using it for a couple of months I'd say it's way too good to be true.
I figure I have nothing to lose trying it, but how good is voice over ip technology these days?
Am I going back to dialpad hell using this?
