This is great I have been using it to call Greece, England, Germany and Italy for free for at least one month :disgust:and the new revision of the software is great so jump on it before they slap charges on it.

I use the Actiontec "Internet Phone Wizard USB", which can be found for ~$50. (search froogle.com). The IPW allows using a regular telephone for internet calls. Much better than using a headset and microphone.

I can't access the account page either. But everything works great! I'll be making use of this tomorrow for some long distance calls.
 
Ok, I was just now able to get into the account deal there and paid the 1 euro. Was only $1.28. :thumbsup: 🙂
 
I guess their accounts page is getting slammed, I still can't get on.
I am headed to the Ritz Carlton in Naples, and did not want to pay extra for one of Vonage's soft phones... A free phone on my laptop sounds about right. Now if only the would make a pocket PC version... . Can you image?

I wonder if not being able to get to the accounts page has anything to do with me not even being able to DOWNLOAD THE INSTALL FILE!

I've been trying for hours, but it just times out. Wonder if the popularity is just affecting their server(s), affecting everyone?
 
I finally got in and put one euro on the account.


I also found out if you call a cell phone in the US it's 1.1 cents a minite unlike a land line which is free. Not complaining but everyone should know that.

Interestingly if you are in the US it dials you from a number in area code 703 which is virginia,,,where their server is or something.

What happens when you call a land-line and the land-line is forwarded to a cell ?
Is it a free call? or $0.011/min call?

(This is often the case for the people I call)

If anyone can confirm what happens, please let us know.

I can test that but it will be a while. Try testing it yourself. You only have to put up $1.28.

Hopefully..... there is no flat conversion charge on top of the 1.28 when going from Euro to USD.
