I've been using the service for a few weeks now and it's great but for one exception: every week or so the gizmo goes out and I wake up the next morning to find out I have no phone service. I call tech support and we go through a process of disconnecting this and that and shutting down the computer, etc. and the service comes back on. It may have something to do with my ISP, but I don't know.

well... my land-line number got transferred and my gizmo phone rings with any of the 3 numbers (my xfered land-line, my original "household", and my "signature" numbers).
I reset the gizmo per SR's email request -- which I figured would cause my xfered land-line number to become my new household number. But nothing much happened.
Everything on my gizmo (and in my SR account mgmt screen) still indicates my original household number. But it does show my xfered landline as an additional signature number. And calls to that number DO come through.
For the people that have transfered landline numbers (ImSeeker?)... did the xfered number show up as your household number right on schedule? or does it take a while longer past the "official" cut-off date?
It seems odd for them to ask me to reset my modem, when my configuration file (where my caller-id + household phone# is) hasn't changed. I've snooped on the configuration file, and it definately has no indication of my xfered number.
I'm just very nervous about missing a call if things are screwed up.
Pretty much. Probably within 30 minutes at most. (Mine was less than 5 min.)Originally posted by: laketrout

If you don't have to port numbers, is it effective immediatley upon hooking it up?
Dear SunRocket customer,
I wanted to let you know that this morning SunRocket experienced a service outage when a fiber cut to one of our network providers caused the SunRocket system to go down. We shifted traffic to an alternate network provider to restore service. I apologize for the disruption.

RideFree... are your comments "pretty much. probably within 30 min..." regarding my situation w/number transfer, or laketrouts situation, where there was no number transfer?Originally posted by: RideFree

ttown, even if you did "miss a call" you'd be able to retrieve the # from the SR WWW.
(Unless it were a blocked call (and you don't want those, anyway.))![]()
SR FAQ says "anywhere in the US". But I see no reason why it wouldnt work anywhere in the world, assuming decent connection quality. To limit it to the US only, they'd have to be looking at the route between SR and the gizmo... which would be an added load/complication on their part -- so I'm guessing they say "in the US..." so they don't have to deal with quality issues abroad. (plus the whole, "hey, my gizmo quit working after i plugged it into this 220V outlet" issue)Originally posted by: RideFree
?
Has anyone taken their Gizmo and phone with them to another area code, plugged it into a router (i.e.internet access), and been able to make and receive calls as though they were at home?
What about overseas? Mexico? Canada? USVI? Puerto Rica? S.A.?

I just signed up with promo code WBFOGQ which gave me the Signature service w/unlimited US & Canada calling and 2 free phones for $199 annual. Upon completion of the order I was given a receipt for a monthly plan @ $24.95.
Called SR and Justin verified I was given the above $199 option but would regardless have to accept the monthly plan. After I got a little nasty about how I was going to make comments in a number of forums and that he should escalate my call to someone who could make a decision, Justin went offline for a few minutes, then returned and stated that SR relented and that my account would be referred to *headquarters* and where I and assured tme that I would receive the annual billing plan.
Crossing my fingers!
I see the offer for $19.99
But then it takes me to the next page for either $24.99 or $199
Is this the problem you had?
You clicked foreward on the $199 plan and got invoiced for the $24.95/mo.? I'd call that BSed (bait & switched)!Originally posted by: uurda
