Your post should come with the caveat "for me" as in "SR may be inexpensive, but it is very trouble prone...in my case." As you can see in this thread, nobody else has your issue. That does not make it less real for you, but the point is that your issue is CLEC related and has to be taken care of at the local level. It is not a national issue that has befallen anyone else here, and looking at other forums it has not been an issue outside a very few. Sorry you are having that particular issue, but it certainly does not mean that the service is "trouble prone" on a general level if your local CLEC screws up the way they have.
Georgepa,
How can you say the nobody else has his issue? He's complaining about Sunrocket being trouble prone. Are you seriously claiming that by looking through this thread, no one else appears to think SR is troubleprone? I, for one, can tell you that you're wrong...SR *is* troubleprone, and I've discussed my problems with SR in this thread and on my site at length. I've also said that I'm still keeping SR, because I don't need that much from my phone service, so if it's working most of the time, I'll be happy with it.
As has been pointed out on other forums, you have a habit of pouncing on anyone who has a problem with SR and immediately insisting that their problems are isolated, and they shouldn't make generalized comments. If that is true, then how are you qualified to make generalized comments?
Something else that has been pointed out on other forums: in doing so you are appointing yourself moderator on all SR-related issues. You're posting to answer every negative SR comment with a positive remark that everyone loves SR, and that the poster in question is in the minority.
There are, in reality, *many* people having problems with SR, just as there are many people liking. I like SR. On the other hand, I get business and personal calls that disconnect as soon as I pick up the phone, with the gizmo placed behind the cable modem and ahead of the router, just as SR demands. I don't think this is a crucial problem. On the other hand, others might...that's why there are forums like this one. So people can post their problems and bitch about SR's support when they feel like it, and others can read them all for a generic overview.
SR is a company already making headlines for their very shady Hogwash campaign, where they're rewarding bloggers for bitching about other companies on their blogs. The campaign has no positive rewards system...there's no reward for a constructive blog, for example. They're just rewarding bloggers and encouraging them to rant.
I'm suspicious of the company, at this point. I'm also suspicious of the way you discount any post critical of SR. It's not your place to make generalized assumptions about SR or about the validity of someone's comments...the whole *point* of a public forum is that I can say "SR's great" while someone else can say "SR sucks", and readers understand that we're all representing personal experiences and opinions. You're trying to go a step further and speak, effectively, for the entire forum.
Just my $0.02. I think new users would be happier with SR if their reception on this forum and others was more respectful, less domineering, and more constructive, even if we can't suggest solutions to their problems.
D.
