I can get xp pro for $5. office 2003 is free.

Academic Alliance. Usually for CS/EE/CE majors. Think MSDN but for students. Its free and nice :)

We also get other software like Server 2003, SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, etc.

Actually, a couple years ago it was $5.

I find it funny that students think their copies of Vista/Office are "free".

QFT, I just tried booting Vista and remembered I never got around to doing an "slui -rearm" while I could still get in.
