check out at cc in long beach,ca no where to be found the ati 3870, ask the salesmen they said they didn't carry it.

Confirmed. THIS IS HOT!! I picked up the only two from my local circuit city. It is has sign that says $129 Sale. Yes it is the Visiontek version but not the retail box seen at bestbuy website. This is a diffrent retail box because I think this is the single slot version of the 3870, the visiontek pictured in BB website is dual slot cooler. ALso it is GDDR4 unlike the GDDR3 version from newegg that's on sale for $130 AR.

It gets better, I take out my 10% off coupon from BestBuy and showed it to the clerk. Manager approved and the clerk applied the 10% off on the two items. My TOTAL OTD is $250 for two 3870 cards, SWEEETTTTTT!!!!

CROSSFIRE, here I COME!!! Oops, wait, I need a crossfire motherboard first. I got excited there for a moment. heheheh.

I use the x800 (Connect3D) that was the rage since you could flash the pipes, which I did.

How much of an upgrade is this? I play Eve Online and would like the ability to use the premium shader 3.0 graphics.

(I see from visiontek's website it is 4.1 shader)

I wish I had an SLI board...

@ITPaladin Just based on Moore's law =) i'd say about 8x better in newer games and maybe 2x better in older games that were around when the x800 was

Circuit City in arundel maryland didn't have any 3870's..but that's typical, they never have anything at all
