<< the main reason I bought this deal was for the Textbridge Pro 8.0 and FormTyper software programs that are included. These 2 programs are worth much more than I paid for the deal. You guys should check them out! >>

There's no FormTyper software on my CD or if there is I can't find it.

Riprorin,

I couldn't find it at first either. Look in Paperport Help under FormTyper. It is listed in the apps that you can drag files to on the Paperport desktop. Just drag a scanned form from the paperport desktop to the Icon and viola! Editable, fillable form!

Good Luck!

Thanks for the app info. Didn't even suspect it was there. Definitely will be giving it a try.

TampaFlash, I have Paperport Deluxe 6.5 installed on my computer for the 7600 scanner and it's got FormTyper too. So, what's this program good for?

basically works like a typerwriter. it allows you to write in text on your scanned forms

Plenty of these scanners in Tampa (Citrus Park). And they PM with Andara Tech. With tax was just under $60.00. Excellent!

If you buy this with Amex Blue I don't care what the CSR's tell you, all you have to do is send in a copy of your sales receipt and the printout of the page from Andaratech showing the scanner and their price of $59.95 ( be sure to show a date when the printout was done ) . They will give you the difference of the price after the $20 coupon or $79.99 and $59.95 or $20.04 ( their guarantee is only good for a min. of $10 ) . They could care less about pricematching policies, or rebates. I've done this many times before on other items with rebates and had no problems.

With FormTyper,

Say you have a form that you have to fill out, like a weekly expense report. You can scan it in, fill it out in FormTyper, then print it out nice and neat. My handwriting is horrible. But I actually can type!

At least that is my plan....

Tacoma, the csr I spoke with didn't mention anything to me about making sure the date was on the printout. He did ask me when I saw it and I told him I was looking at it right now. I told him I could give him the url if he wanted to see it himself. His answer to me was "I believe you and I'll note that you're looking at it now". Another thing he mentioned was he had already done a few pm's with Andaratech that day. Since my printout didn't have a date on it, does this mean I'm going to have a problem?

TampaFlash, thanks for the FormTyper description.

well, i just got back after going to two Staples. the first one i went to wouldn't do the $59.95 pricematch for me due to the final cost for me ending up to be free (and then some...). They said that if i would come back tomorrow or sometime in the following week, they would have no problem price-matching for me, once the $70 rebate would be gone. so, i just left and went to another Staples down the street. Over there, i did the same thing i did at the previous store, and showed the sales lady the $59.95 print-out. she didn't ask any questions, didn't call her manager, but just simply rang up the scanner for the amount in the print-out. Got the 110% difference, and she didn't even tack on the cost of shipping/handling either :)

What a difference some stores can make... now, time to install this scanner......

Well, It turns out that I must have gotten a dud. I tried it on 2 computers. One with Win98SE and one with XP (using the new drivers) It will not scan at all, But it will copy fine.
When I try to scan I get a error message asking if I had unlocked the scan head??? Of course I did, It copies to printer fine.

Well it is going back, does anyone know if a Staples B&M will take it back? or do I gotta call Staples.com?

Any help would be appreciated.:) Thanks

Edit: Oh and buy the way, this thing must have been a return, it has scrapes on the top and also had fingerprints on the glass..:Q

Question for those of you who have your scanner up and running...

When it 1st starts to scan, does your scanner head go back and forth making a few loud clicks and then start scanning? I just hooked mine up to test it (wanted to make sure I didn't get a dud like technogeek) and noticed the clicking right away. My 7600 doesn't make those sounds at all. One thing nice about this scanner is it's quick compared to the 7600.

I checked the AMEX web and see how staples charged me... :( They put the coupon on the scanner (not with the backpack). So there goes my free backpack + money back Plan. I will have to return all of them to local Staples B&M... Well, good deals anyway, maybe wait till 17th to see if i can get one then.

Did anybody try the following:
Scan with TWAIN software, it works fine.
Switch off the the scanner, then switch it on, the system reconnects the scanner
Scan with TWAIN software again..
I got message saying could not communicate with the scanner

What's wrong?
