Must ... resist ... two scanners already ... new scanner in cart for $9.99 AR ... agh!

By the way, if you are going to try an AmEx Blue price match, you might try here where the price is $59.95. It could get you an extra $4 which should practically guarantee a profit.

Yeah, has anyone successfully done the AMEX pricematch yet with this deal? A week ago or so when I was making a pricematch they asked me if the store which I had originally purachased the item from had a pricematch policy, but I said "not that I'm aware of". It was best buy....I don't know what they would have said if I answered, yeah there is a PM policy. Anyone AMEX PM anything recently w/Staples?

buy now from Staples.com
wait for 14 days then Amex PM
no problem coz staples PM is only 14 days
Amex PM is 60 days

if buydig's price goes up, etronics has it also almost the same price :)

OK on this AMEX blue pricematch question...

Wait till after the 15 or 30 day pricematch policy for Staples (or whatever) store has passed. AMEX blue gives you 60 days. Can't very well use the original stores pm policy if its past now can you : ) Besides it might go down a little more.

FPSGuy gave a link above for 59.95 at Andara. 7 bucks cheaper than the others.

This is the way I do it,

when I buy something that I think the price will go down within the next 60 days, I put a reminder on my ipaq to check the price 50 to 55 days after I buy it.

Then if I find it for a lower price ($10 or more lower), I call up amex, file a claim, take them to the web site (it's usually a online place that has it cheaper), fax in my original receipt, wait 2 weeks for a check.

If there's something I really want, then I buy it from a local store (BB, CC etc) and do the same thing, wait 50 to 55 days, then call amex and get a check for the difference.

I've asked my gf to get a blue card so I can double the limit to $2000 PM per year :) ($1k per card).

Last year, I was able to get a little over $600 in refunds from amex within a 80 day period.
not to mention the $1k in rebates over the last calender year :)

To save yourself the trouble of filing multiple claims with amex on the same item, just wait till you're close to the end of the 60 day period before you file the claim. Unless ofcourse you see a killer deal in the mean time on the same item, then go for it!

Good luck! My scanner should be delivered tomorrow which means I will be calling Amex on either March 21st or March 26th :)

Thanks thenew3

I have been waiting for a rock solid deal on a scanner since my scsi to usb didn't work with XP and I don't want to install a scsi card into my new rig.

They won't PM from 99 to 64, but they will PM from 79 to 64. They don't care. Hell, they lose less money if you use a coupon.....

I was looking for a scanner and favored HP or Canon, but at this price, I can't resist. Have a Visioneer USB 7600 but XP support is lacking and it is an older model. The 8100 does have XP support, even gets the "designed for XP" nod from Microsoft. Link to Microsoft XP Catalog

Thanks.

How long does shipping take on these? If I ordered before 5pm does it come the next day? BTW awesome deal. Thanks, my mom needs a scanner for all the pictures over the years.

Cool. $80.78 on the order ( had to add pens...guess i need them anyway, but the coupon was for off $100.. :/) tax will be $7 something..so $17 for a scanner aint bad, even if i dont PM..which i prolly will cuz im me heh. Last scanner cost me $69-$60, the day after thanksgiving. Got my rebate a week ago...which is around 6-7 weeks, the usual in my experience.

Any comments on how good this scanner is? Any links to reviews? The price seems very good and I placed an order for it myself too. I just hope that rebate comes. :)

Thanx

Great deal, thanks. :)

FYI, here are some Visioneer 8100 reviews. Looks pretty solid to me. In fact, it looks like the reviewers considered it to be a pretty good deal @$150...I wonder what grade it would receive @$10. ;):D
