You can mail in payments and two other options are:
1) Your local banks online banking can send electronic payments
2) CitiBank online can debit your bank checking account via ACH, you just need your check for the routing number and account number details.

will accessing my credit this much in the past half year hurt me?

would cancelling my compusa CC right after I pay it off hurt my credit?

Wow @ the citi amex card

A great card, the protection of Amex and Citi together, with the 5% cash back.

Wow if this is true I'm switching but I'll probably get assigned a new cc number :(

What makes Amex better than Visa, assuming Citi Dividend Plat Select?

Card benefits such as buyer's assurance and purhase protection plan.

Doesn't VISA have similar benefits? One noticeable difference I saw was additional cash back opportunities with amex. Is there anything else?

Yes but no Purchase Protection Plan protection:

Shop with confidence with the Purchase Protection Plan, which protects eligible purchases made with the Card against accidental damage and theft for up to 90 days from the date of purchase.7

VISA for these 3 reasons:
  • My favorite rewards credit card is a VISA, so I don't really have a choice.
  • VISA offers free extended warranty coverage to eligible card holders.
  • Because I fscking said so!

I'm currently using the Citi Dividend Plat Select Visa(thanks to bettercreditcard.com), its my first credit card, any reason why its a mastercard on the site? Which is your favorite rewards credit card?

Thanks, we recently redesigned BetterCreditCard.com :)

Mine was grandfathered in as a VISA but I heard Citi is changing all cc's to MC, not sure if/when that will happen. AFAIK all new cc's will be MC.

I have the Plat Select card too (had it since last August or so)...its a MC, I think at the time you could choose which one. I already had a VISA with a different card so I chose MC just to variety. :p

Oh and WOW at the CitiAMEX card...is it just like an AMEX card but with the 1-5% back?

I disagree.

I think one should have the Plat Select card because Mastercard is accepted anywhere pretty much, and then you should have the AMEX 3/2/1 card (TrueEArnings from Costco). Your 3% goes to eating out. You can never get that with Mastercard, even if you do the Citi-Amex thing.

Your goal here is to get cashback on AS MANY THINGS as you can. You maximize cashback on the GREATEST amount of goods = WIN FOR YOU.

Also get that Discover 5% movie theater thingy.

VISA has this too since 3/1/05, http://usa.visa.com/personal/cards/bene...enefits/index.html|Purchase%20Security

Virtually everything you purchase with your covered Visa card is protected in case of theft or damage for the first 90 days from the date of purchase.

If you do the Costco Amex and sign up for executive membership you get another 2% off Costco goods.
