A report I heard on NPR News, today, says this one does NOT require opening an attachement. Just opening the e-mail to read it will infect your machine.Originally posted by: KeyserSoze
I know that we are all smart enough NOT to open up attachmentsthat we aren't expecting, but pass this on to "your friends."

My company's email server is currently toasted thanks to Bug Bear. Looks like someone in this company was dumb enough to open it or maybe it was someone outside with one of our emails in their address book. Either way, bug bear blows. Our Helpdesk phone is being lit up like a Christmas tree, lol!
Instead of a headline like "Dangerous Fizzer Worm Attacks the Internet," how about "Thousands of Morons Open Obviously Virus-Laden E-mail Attachments"?

that latest bugbear variant runs if your outlook express shows the preview. i.e. you don't even have to run the file. unless of course you have a relatively recent security patch from microsoft... then you're okay as long as you don't run it.
