Next year should be a great year for the east.

Orlando and the Cavs should both be better which has to be a scary thing for the rest of the league.

that is if all teams stay healthy.

Top 4 teams in the NBA right now are:

Lakers
Magic
Nuggets
Spurs

maybe Celtics can be in the top 4 or 5 depending on health of its players and what they decide to do with their roster this offseason.
 
for his salary they couldve gotten camby. offense would be good with jameer back in the mix. whos going to score inside vs dwight and marcus? NOBODY
 
losing Turkoglu would be a huge loss for Orlando imo

more so than acquiring Vince Carter

he basically did everything for Orlando in the 4th QTR of the playoffs. a 100% Nelson might make the departure less noticeable, but I think it is a sizeable risk for the Magic to let Turkoglu go

agreed, the match up problems turko created just were hard to defend against. I really think the magic need to bring him back in order to make this team nearly unstoppable.

I'd argue Pietrus' defense is more valuable to them right now than Hedo's offense and ball handling.
 
If Hedo gets a better deal then he's going to leave, it's not about losing Hedo to get Vince. Turkoglu is probably more likely to stay with Vinsanity on the team now actually. Turkoglu is a great player though, to be sure.

ps How old is Carter now? Still the best dunker around? 🙂
 
Oh yeah the whole 'salary cap' thing...I never pay attention to those :x

Still they're loaded with talent either way.

He was planning to opt-out regardless. His value is more than what Orlando is paying him now, and they knew if he was going to stay with the team, they'd have to pay him more. I'd still like that to happen, but can't see it happening after taking on carter's contract.

But I think Camby is rocking $10mil a year, and Hedo is expecting to get that much.

Doesn't Vince make $20mil a year?

Yeah, great defense that could not stop Kobe.

It's great to have a defender that can guard most guys throughout the regular season, but you need a guy that can stick with the best in the playoffs. That's where the specialists stand out.

That's why the Lakers need to sign Ariza badly.
 
The trade was stupid. The Magic got rid of Alston and Lee, two solid contributors, for Carter. Vince Carter is done, stick a fork in him. When he was in his prime, he was the best slasher in the game. But he could never shoot, never played defense, and wasn't a solid rebounder or passer. Now? He still can't shoot, doesn't play defense, and he can't get to the hole nearly as well. Oh, and he has to jack up 25 shots a game to be effective.

You're going to add that to a team that has Howard whining about not enough touches, Lewis jacking up a 3 every other time down the court, and Jameer Nelson- who doesn't exactly light it up from a passing standpoint? You're going to practically guarantee that you lose Turkoglu, a good 6-10 point-forward that can play defense and rebound, was the only player who wanted to take shots at crunch time in the playoffs, and was the only guy that could create a shot for someone else.

There's a reason that guys like Vince Carter and Allen Iverson make pretty much every team they go to worse...
