Well, I was on another site and I saw this deal at Compaq with a 20% off coupon (you know where to get it). They have a lot of good deals on monitors, but this one really stuck out because after shipping and tax I'm still getting it $350 less than any other site I can find on the web. $844.67 with tax and ground shipping for me, now I gotta decide if I really want to spend that much...........
 
I got mine shipped for $888.43, I got the second day shipping, I think it's funny because they charge you tax on the shipping costs as well, if I got the priority overnight then it was a little over $900 and the tax was more by a few $. I didn't know shipping costs were a taxable thing. :disgust:

i cant seem to find any reviews online...anyone have experience with this lcd? specs look good...but specs can be manipulated...

BTW - We purchased a one of these VG191s last year. The LCD performance is OK but nothing spectacular complared to SGIs and Planars we already have. If you are looking for then most screen real estate for your money then this looks like a good deal.

Looks like the only spec it's lacking is the response which is still one of the lowest. Combine that with the fact that it's $300-$400 cheaper than everywhere else...hot deal.
 
I believe only the Compaq TFT8030 currently has a lower response time (20ms total average response time). The 25ms of the Viewsonic is very good. The other specs are definitely class leading as well, especially the ones that count (ie. 500:1 contrast). 250nits brightness is brighter than you'll ever need in the office or practically anywhere out of direct sunlight. BTW, rk0, it absolutely rocks the T85.
 
If you are thinking of buying to ebay, I'd rethink. Couple buddies of mine already bought 2 dozen + of these things, the market will be heavily flooded.
